just open mouth chochocho instead of asking at what margin can the marketer sell that will be okay, and this one Alhaji want to be supplying directly is also a challenge , it is like bying the middle man ...so the board should rethink it's strategy...you can do that as an added advantage if they are other heavy players ...and you want to capture the market. Don't use the same strategy with cement on refinery... rather encourage the marketers to find bulk market outside Nigeria, so they can be exporters .

Dangote's story may not be far from the truth, because an average Nigerian is greedy, selfish and hypocritical

Zonefree: Dangote should open gas stations all over Nigeria? The oga analyst is not more or less a Nigerian than Dangote, perhaps he should build his own refinery as well and also build the gas stations all over Nigeria to sell his products. Some experts. |

DevilsEqual: Any Nigerian that thinks Dangote and his refinery are the messiahs of Nigeria is a compound fool. Nigerian is an interesting society that needs to be studied. Majority lack deductive reasoning asides lack of education/abject poverty and will sacrifice facts on the alter of religious ,ethnic sentiments and rice. |

Anither563: This not insightful anything, the writer is not a billionaire and hungry while Tinubu and Dangote are billionaires. As far as Tinubu have a hand in the importation of petroleum products there is no way he will allow Dangote to take over the market. What happened to made in Nigeria goods that they preach everyday? The write stupidity as that dangote should build his own filling station? Before he does that what will happen to the masses. Now that the govt is unwilling to meet on a common ground so that dangote should start selling who are the blaming for increased fuel dangote or Tinubu. |

NIgerians do not want to pay market price for petrol....that is why we are having all this long grammer about Dangote doing emotional blackmail. The thing is, Tinubu's government does not want to it that they have been paying subsidy and they have to remove it for petrol to flow. Because it means prices go up, and their chances of winning in 2027 go away. Nigerians as a whole do not want cheap fuel to end. There are the subsidy cabals, the smugglers, and most poor Nigerians. Infact, subsidy is one of the few things the elite and the poor agree on. It benefits both of them...at the expense of economic progress and development of a domestic refining capacity. Cheap fuel is what isdriving this whole thing. No Nigerian wants to pay N1500 for a liter of fuel, as it means that the subsidy is truly gone. But attempting to keep fuel cheap is hurting NNPC, who right now are scraping the barrel to pay for it. Their barrels, not the government. And they are at a point where they cannot keep scraping the barrel. Subsidy should go. It's time to end the five decade old charade. But I know Nigerians...we would sacrifice our economy to Molech rather than do the sane and right thing. After all, we want N20 FUEL. 3 Likes |

DevilsEqual: Dangote can import his own crude and export all of his products and he will be fine. Dangote refinery is not a state owned enterprise. It has no duty to provide petrol at a price that is not beneficial to it. 2 Likes |

Guestlander: Dangote to open gas stations? Refineries in the world need about 3 Months down payment to have liquidity so they can do forward payment for crude. Dangote will only open gas stations when all Nigerian vehicle s can pay their 3 months petrol demand to his station, how possible is that? I don’t think if there is any marketer other than NNPCL capable of that. He needs NNPCL more than NNPCL needs him. Refineries are globally a low margin business. I don’t know who corrupted our brains that it’s a highly profitable venture. Lols, majority of Nigerians think downstream business is tomato business. |

DevilsEqual: How can the masses feel pity for dangote and them rally round him to fix the price of PMS at a high price? Just how? Are you agbadorians stupid or something? Is anything wrong with your heads? ![]() |

Dangote, talk straight abeg. Don't come and corner the market, come still corner the subsidy.

nairalanda1(m): 3:12pm On Sep 13, 2024 |
DevilsEqual: NO, Dangote does not want to take the blame for increase in fuel prices. Hence the drama around his fuel. The fact is, there is going to be a price increase. Subsidy is literally on its last legs. The government has run out of new tricks to try, and the IMF is not going to give us free money no more, unless we do some structural adjustments. The issue is, you guys want cheap fuel. Meanwhile, the best that fuel can be sold at a cheapest is probably N1200, per liter, and that is without transport costs. 1 Like |

Salewa97: Most of you are social media youths or Social Media Fools. If Government increased Price from 580 to 920 or 850 is that not a good reason for Dangote to take advantage and announce his cheaper price? He wants to collect subsidy. He wants NNPC to buy from him at imported fuel price and sell to Nigerians through marketers at subsidized Price. No way. 1 Like |

Let’s assume Dangotes PMS is more costly, why do we have to put pressure on the exchange rate by converting Maura to dollar in order to import PMS? If we remove the pressure of PamS import, Maura will improve DevilsEqual: |

I already told my guys that both Dangote and NNPCL are playing a script.

Islie: It’s senseless to call this Adeoti an expert for if he is, he should be able to understand and comprehend what Dangote said. It is stated that 95% of diesel are exported because the independent marketers formed a cabal and refused to buy it at much cheaper price. This is not about the petrol. |
