I started feeling governance since I relocated to the United States.
Even if you offer me the job of the Chief Medical Director of UCH IBADAN, UNTH, I will never never never never never never never never never never never never return to Nigeria to accept such a Mammywater offer.
The reason is simple and here it's....
At my age now my quality of life & sanity are of priority to me owing to the mental damage Nigeria caused us. There's more to life than constituting nuisance and blowing sirens everywhere. Those are ultimate.
how old are you sir?

The Nigerian professor who makes more money welding.

Kabir Abu Bilal is not your regular Nigerian university professor - he has a second job working as a welder in the northern city of Zaria.

Welding is widely seen as a menial job across Nigeria and he has shocked many - especially his colleagues - by opening up his own welding workshop.

"I am not ashamed that I work as a welder despite being a professor," he tells the BBC. "I make more money from welding."

The 50-year-old teaches and supervises research students at the faculty of engineering at Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria's largest and one of its most prestigious universities.

A toilet cleaner abroad can easily build a house back home in Nigeria more than a bank manager, he can improve his life there easily there too. My classmate who spent ten years jobless after service moved to the UK to work as a caregiver which is even worse than a toilet cleaner while studying, today, he has a masters and PhD in artificial intelligence and is a big boy. Nigeria is a dream killer.

Look. One thing you guys need to understand is that OVER THE LONG TERM, Nigeria will eventually get it right.

Nigeria is an unstoppable train.

I asked AI (ChatGPT)

''TELL ME ABOUT NIGERIA IN THE YEAR 2075''

It's response:

........................

In 2075, Nigeria is a dynamic and influential powerhouse in Africa and globally, shaped by its rich history, vast resources, and resilience. The nation has undergone significant transformations, leveraging its demographic advantage, technological advancements, and natural resources to redefine its role on the world stage.

Population and Demographics
With a population that has sured 400 million, Nigeria remains the most populous nation in Africa. The population is youthful but has also aged since the mid-21st century, with life expectancy rising due to improved healthcare. The country's population is diverse, with over 500 ethnic groups, though urbanization has led to a blending of cultures in megacities like Lagos, Abuja, and Kano. Nigeria's urban population exceeds 75%, with sprawling cities that are hubs of innovation, culture, and commerce.

Economy and Infrastructure

Nigeria's economy in 2075 is highly diversified, moving beyond its historical reliance on oil. The country has become a leader in renewable energy, particularly solar power, given its geographical advantages. Advances in agriculture, driven by technology and sustainable practices, have made Nigeria a key player in global food security. The manufacturing sector, ed by automation and AI, is robust, producing everything from advanced electronics to green technologies.

Transportation infrastructure is futuristic, with high-speed rail networks connecting major cities, and autonomous electric vehicles dominating the roads. Lagos, often called the "Silicon Lagoon," rivals global tech hubs like Silicon Valley and Shenzhen, with a thriving ecosystem of startups and tech giants.

Governance and Society

Politically, Nigeria is more stable, having navigated through decades of democratic consolidation. Governance is enhanced by digital transparency, reducing corruption, and fostering greater citizen participation. The political landscape is marked by a strong federal structure, where states have significant autonomy, allowing for tailored approaches to development across the diverse regions.

Socially, the country has made strides in education and gender equality, with women holding significant positions in government, business, and academia. However, challenges remain, particularly in managing the socio-economic disparities that still exist, though these are less pronounced than in the past.

Technology and Innovation

Nigeria is at the forefront of technological innovation in Africa. The country has made significant investments in AI, biotechnology, and space exploration. Nigerian tech companies are global players, and the nation's space agency has launched satellites that contribute to global communications and environmental monitoring.

Education in Nigeria has transformed, with a focus on STEM fields, and universities in Nigeria are renowned for their research in medicine, engineering, and environmental sciences. Virtual reality and AI have become integral parts of education, making learning more accessible and tailored to individual needs.

Environment and Sustainability

Nigeria has taken bold steps to address the environmental challenges posed by climate change. The Niger Delta, once plagued by oil spills, has been rehabilitated, and the country has implemented widespread reforestation projects to combat desertification in the north. Nigeria's commitment to green energy and sustainable practices has positioned it as a leader in global environmental initiatives.

Water management and climate adaptation strategies have been crucial in ensuring that the growing population has access to clean water and can withstand the impacts of climate change, such as more frequent and intense droughts or floods.

Culture and Global Influence

Culturally, Nigeria continues to be a global trendsetter. Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry, is not only the largest in Africa but one of the most influential globally, shaping narratives and entertainment across continents. Nigerian music, fashion, and literature remain central to global pop culture.

On the global stage, Nigeria plays a key role in international diplomacy, trade, and security. It is a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, reflecting its importance in global geopolitics. Nigeria's voice is crucial in addressing issues such as global inequality, climate change, and digital governance.

In summary, Nigeria in 2075 is a vibrant, forward-looking nation that has successfully harnessed its potential, overcoming challenges to become a beacon of progress in Africa and a major player on the world stage.

As long as the majority still have cockroach mentality, nothing much will change.

And what do you say about a banker who has worked over 20 years and still doesn't have his own house? Impossible, you will say. But it is true. And not that he is wasteful or anything.

The write-up says bank manager not just a banker.

I want to believe a bank manager of 20 years should be able to afford a home if he is not wasteful as you assert.

So, mortgage is not a home? Toilet cleaner has a better home than she can get in naija. Know this, know peace.

When we say a toilet cleaner in USA, Canada, UK, Australia is better than the manger of zenith bank, what we mean is that the toilet cleaner will never suffer what you are currently suffering in Nigeria.

Example include:

A. A toilet cleaner will never queue for fuel.
B. A toilet cleaner is less likely to be kidnapped in those countries
C. A toilet cleaner has 24/7 electricity.
D. A toilet cleaner has access to excellent Medicare.
E. A toilet cleaner is less likely exposed to armed robbers
F. A toilet cleaner eats better food and fruits than your bank manager.
G A toilet cleaner has access to good amenities
H. A toilet cleaner may have his children schooling for free in primary and high school
I. A toilet cleaner has a longer live expectancy than your bank manager in Nigeria.

Which place in Nigeria did you live before traveling. As a Nigerian, I have been to crazily poor interior villages. If people from such villages travel abroad, the things they mention that they are enjoying abroad is similar lifestyle some of us live in Nigeria and additionally we have multiple maids and specialized handy men and domestic staff at our beck and call. This OP is from such poor village.

You have maid and slaves yen yen, here maids are paid full, u dare not emotionally maltreat them, you will loose your house to them, abroad is not heaven, but your maid comes to work in a decent car and enjoys almost the same amenities as u do

no, he wouldn't.
But kids from his region will always come out top in any examination in the same country despite going to school only four days a week.

As far back as 1988, a Nigerian newspaper quoted a Nigerian based abroad as saying that its better to be a cleaner in Washington DC than to be a bank manager in Lagos. So no be today that this comparison has been made. For me, I definitely say being a bank manager in Lagos is way better than working as a cleaner in the US.

The only problem is, how can someone be a millionaire in Nigeria and then turn to toilet cleaner overseas. That is the hard adjustment... But the toilet cleaners already here can never reach there.

With the salaries of current bankers most should be able to afford a decent house of their own after 20 years. There may be exceptions but this is true of almost everything

says who?
in the Uk if a toilet leaner has a council flat for up to 4 years, he can then buy said home and all the rent he has been paying adds up to be the deposit of the house. Right now 1st time buyers can deposit just from 5% up, you have no idea how the govt in the west fend for its citizens.
