CLARIFICATION ON CRUDE SUPPLY

Our attention has been drawn to media reports alleging that the Dangote Refinery has backtracked by acknowledging that NNPC supplied about 60% of the 50 million barrels we lifted.

To clarify, we have never accused NNPC of not supplying us with crude. Our concern has always been that NUPRC is pushing but IOCs are not following the instructions to enforce the domestic crude supply obligation and ensure that we receive our full crude requirement from NNPC and the IOCs.

For September, our requirement is 15 cargoes, of which NNPC allocated six. Despite appealing to NUPRC and their intervention, we've been unable to secure the remaining cargoes. When we approached IOCs producing in Nigeria, they redirected us to their international trading arms or responded that their cargoes were committed.

Consequently, we often purchase the same Nigerian crude from international traders at an additional $3-$4 per barrel which translates to $3-$4 million per cargo. We, therefore still insist that we are unable to secure our full crude requirement from domestic production and urge NUPRC to fully enforce the domestic crude supply obligation as mandated by the PIA. It is a law and they just need to comply.

This is what I have been saying.

Let him go and raise fund, buy oil well and drill his own crude. All these IOC nonsense and government playing politics will stop. Because I don't understand how IOC will not fulfill local obligations and be exporting the country crude. Makes no sense. So IOC is now more powerfully than our government and can do whatever they like in our country. SMH. The country is sold.

NNPC needs to answer questions on the crude allocation for domestic consumption over the years
We all know our refineries have not been working while crude has been statutorily allocated to them per month
Yet we keep hearing humongous figures for subsidy on our crude that was refined for us by international refiners
Either NNPC has been selling the crude and still pocketing money for subsidy
Or NNPC has been buying petroleum products while keeping the crude away
This requires serious investigation

We all can see why our refineries will never work. It's a multi dimensional conspiracy both from Nigeria and overseas.

Haven't you heard that Saudi Arabia refused to sell crude to Dangote Refinery?

Imagine Dangote Refinery struggling to free itself from the shackles and conspiracy of oil cabals who are afraid of losing the West African oil market to Dangote.

How is Dangote a local content. When refined fuel sells at almost same cost as imported. And the example you cited did not follow. None of the companies ed by US threatened government export revenue and their trade dispute with China doesn't mean many tiger countries are not trading freely and competing with locals.
