Everybody go collect last last. Band A households don collect. Universities and other higher institutions of learning don collect. Na wicked governments turn to collect from DISCOs.
Imagine Kaduna govt paid 250 million naira last year 2023 between September and December which is 4 months! But the same DISCO is now telling them to pay over 1 billion naira between January and July 2024 which is 7 months! This rip off will go round.
University of Benin has now embarked on solar power project in phases and asking for help and donations towards the project

This is why I feel we live in a very unrealistic society. Imagine, even the government cannot pay yet they approved the pricing of these DISCOs... Universities are even complaining, saying they might transfer the bill to students, yet the salary scale is still very low... N70k a month is still less than $50...

So Tinubu is really unfit, he should have just sat down in Lagos, playing godfather. In a saner country, he'd be made to step down and hand over to someone more capable cos Nigeria is too sensitive to be in his control.

Something he wouldn't have accepted if he was the one heading the disco. We saw how he ran Abuja when he was fct minister. He claimed he was a no-nonsense minister. So, let kad govt pay please.

They even embezzle allocation and budget for their own electricity...!

As at last year, I commented on one nairaland thread that people cannot afford N200 per kwh bill. When I say people I mean the working class Nigerians - I never thought of the rich 1 percenters Nigeria have because I think they're ok. But lo and behold, just 1 year later, the one percenters are struggling to pay light bills.
You can see the response of one man on the screen shot. I wish I could reach out to him to ask if he can afford Band A electricity. Below is a link to the nairaland thread.
