Edo 2024: Philip Shaibu, legacy PDP Defect To APC (Photos) (36985 Views)

What are his hopes now? Inherit Oshiomhole's senatorial seat someday, fight to become governor after eight years, return to the house of assembly, or get a fed appointment through Oshiomhole's influence? Choosing to fight Oshiomhole openly was a huge mistake. A choleric like Oshiomhole will never trust him again. Philip is going to have to pave his own political path to the top alone onward. ![]() 6 Likes |

MrMcJay: Obi did not decamp to a ruling party. Obi left PDP when Atiku who earlier decamped to APC returned to PDP to continue with his unending search to become president of Nigeria; and was reading to buy PDP presidential ticket with his immense wealth. 4 Likes |

figment232:Tell yarimo. It will be too sweet. Any candidate who will beat a bini man in edo go tie wrapper, even wear gele . Oshio baba's case was a unique one because they realy loved him. Lucky was openly stealing money to revive his father's moribund airline and other businesses, this angered binis and sent him packing. Binis constitute a large percentage of indigenes of edo people. Even some parts of edo north like uneme nekhua, irepa, okpela, afuze, agbede, etc are Benin extensions 3 Likes |

Efuaye: Oshiomhole is a smart guy. He needs all available tools to prosecute the forthcoming elections. That statement was simply to warn Philip at that time that APC governorship ticket was not available to anyone outside the party stakeholders. Besides, receiving an influential opposition figure very close to an election helps weaken them (PDP) further. Oshiomhole might have delayed this move until now in order to achieve this goal. 6 Likes |

mastermaestro: If you , when Saraki and co. decamped from APC to PDP, there was a flurry of defections back then. The final defection that made PDP cry was when Akpabio as Senator decamped to the APC. As at then, he was one of the major financiers of PDP and a major Senator from the SS. It was Osho baba who midwifed that defection. Till now, the PDP is still in severe pains. 6 Likes |

It’s the Edo State electorates that decide who they want and not a set of cronies and political leaders that never have any political value in Edo State. As it stands today, Dr Asue Ighodalo will win in landslide victories in September governorship election in Edo State. Philip Shaibu has been heavily deserted in Edo north senatorial district. People love Obaseki of Pdp in all the 3 senatorial district no be small.
