The AGF spoke with State House correspondents after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu Naturally one will be happy, should be happy. Nigerians are happy about it. I call it Local Government emancipation judgement because it has really emancipated the Local Governments from the shackles of the past and I hope the Local Government officials will seize the opportunity to develop their various Local Governments. - Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi 81 Likes 14 Shares |

Good Congratulations to local government areas that their chairmen are not in the same party with the governors. The chairmen will have enough funds to loot, sorry to work with.

This is one of the best judgements given since democracy by the judiciary… LGA can now breath while the governor remove their monkey fingers from LGA allocations… But all LGA chairmen must be held able for their funds released to them from FAAC and EFCC should me more proactive in handling issues concerning fraud… There is still a lot to be done but this is a move in the right direction Governors please let the LGA breath… the era of selection of chairmen is gradually fading away 73 Likes 4 Shares |

A good way to start but what we want is Resource control.. And who monitors the local government chairmen to make sure they use the money judiciously and not embezzlements 12 Likes |

Now the LGA elections will now be do or die affairs as they will be in charge as governors in charge of states. Many politicians will no longer care about governorship elections anymore

Everybody knows I'm not a er of baba Seyi, but if this is being truly implemented and I see a drastic change in all the local governments across Nigeria plus if at least more five policies are made, that will have positive effects on common man on the street, then I'll give him my total and ignore the mandate he stole. I am for the betterment of the masses, I don't care about individuality, tribes, party or religion. All I want to see is a better and prosperous Nigeria. 36 Likes |

Governors will want to test BAT but All those toothless governors will mellow ![]() The god father himself is Mr President, warning shots fired Interesting days Ahead The national assembly should cancel states electoral commission and give it to INEC in the next constitution amendments. Restructuring 101, clear road for man wey sabi. Politics is local, we are heading there 💯 Meanwhile, Tinubu economic policies are killing citizens 26 Likes 4 Shares |

This is good for democracy. This will also encourage grassroots political participation among youths.
