Dear Arinze,
Thank you for your . I am not sure the Lagos Police Command is using ethnic profiling to rid Lagos State of crime. The nine kidnappers recently killed after killing many Lagosians were neutralised by the police after residents of Ladipo tipped the police. The police did not even initiate it. And there was a spontaneous celebration after the police neutralised these marauders. You can see it in the now viral video.
However, you may have access to more accurate information than I do and I urge you to publish any evidence to that effect.
As to seaports, I know for a fact that both Port Harcourt and Onne Port are working and are open to importers and exporters without any restrictions. There is no federal government embargo on any port.
In fact, a week ago, the Nigerian Customs Service seized a cache of illegal arms at that port. Onne Port has the capacity to receive very large ships. These are both in Rivers State. However, if you have any proof that the ports in Port Harcourt are closed, please make it public.
But even beyond that, states can build ports. Why have the states you are referring to not built their own ports? The Lekki Port and the Lekki Free Trade Zone is an initiative of Lagos State. If you do not like Lagos, then build your own ports. Nobody is stopping you!
Finally, on the issue of referendum, it is not in our Constitution. And the reason is simple.
The idea for a secession clause was mooted by Chief Obafemi Awolowo in 1954, during the Lagos Constitutional Conference, but Nnamdi Azikiwe rejected it and galvanised a majority of the conference attendees to kill the idea.
After this was rejected, Chief Awolowo again wrote to the then Governor General of Nigeria, who rejected the clause on the grounds that the majority, led by Nnamdi Azikiwe, were not in of it.
It was because of Nnamdi Azikiwe that section 86 was inserted into our constitution with the proviso that if any region should secede, it will be an act of treason.
Nnamdi Azikiwe himself wrote about this in an essay, which was published by the New Nigerian Newspapers in 1975, and has since been republished by other papers and by Mr Azikiwe himself.
Were it not for Azikiwe, Biafra would have had the legal right to secede.
Thanks again, and may God bless you.

I don't know why some like to play the tribal card. Same tribal card was played when Evans was arrested. They even started a FreeEvans movement on twitter.

I don't think Reno bothered to tell people like you that the independence constitution he is talking about has been done away with since 1963
He also doesn't want to tell people that he ran to his X to claim that the leader of the the alleged Kidnappers was released from jail by IPOB, even though nobody, including him, knows who the leader of the men is
He then talks about secession as if Nigeria is not a signatory to the laws of self determination, domesticated into the Nigerian constitution, that allows anyone, or any group, to seek independence from Nigeria

Yeah. He created the unitary government against the wish of the Western and Northern region. He was even about to do something more sinister before he was assassinated in the coup. He wanted to post Obas and Emir's to different regions like we currently have with NYSC.
Even with the unitary gov, Nigeria has now been a mess ever since.

That PH,warri and Calabar port Igbo always shout is to manipulate Southsouth to their hate...Lagos port has been the most thriving port since 1865,was it a deliberate policy of the FG
THEY KNOW ONNE PORT IS WORKING WELL BUT WILL ALWAYS CT TO PROPAGATE LIES TO EXHIBITS THEIR VICTIM MENTALITY AND MANIPULATE OTHERS TO IT.

Exactly, only dumb people from other tribes follow them. Their brother was the cause of disunity we now have today in Nigeria. They are always quick to refer him to delta igbo but uses Okonjo iweala a delta north to boast of her achievement as Igbo. Awolowo was a visionary leader than Azikiwe. He knows that there will be a time like this. Nobody cant compare him to Azikiwe. As the head of western region then and till today we see his trademark. Built university, built the first tv station, cocoa house is still standing in Ibadan till date and above all, he did free education and that has made the Yorubas ahead of all tribes in Nigeria in of education. No organization in Nigeria be it public or private were Yorubas are not holding an important position. Igbos are the most tribalistic among the major three tribes in the country.

You are right, they are now calling for division of Nigeria when the were enjoying it then. Because they couldn't rule now. If Obi have won last year will they be calling for Biafra. If they so much belief in forming their country, let them not participate in 2027 general election, let them immediately tell all their people in federal government positions to resign. All of them on the pay row of federal and other state government to leave and then we will take them serious. You can't be feeding on Nigeria and same time you are clamouring for disengagement. That is cheating. If they did this, international bodies will pick interest and comes to their aid. After every election loss, they come up with Biafra.
