My own is... You are hiking tariffs for services barely rendered!

Why not improve services, then make it worthwhile for people to pay more?!!

Why is it so difficult for these institutions to start building solar farms with say 50% of their monthly allocation. Any institution can use this method to become self sufficient in providing it's energy need within a short period of time. I don't know why our universities that are supposed to be research centres always crying like babies for money when in actual fact they are sitting on real money.

It's corruption. The budget for utilities runs in billions

Are the universities in band A? Shouldn't be so. Educational institutions should be given some concession.

Reverse means giving subsidies on top the already subsidized education which is not sustainable.

Rather than returning electricity subsidies plaqued with corruption, the FG should provide the alternative renewable energy project in the other universities or those universities creatively solve their energy problems. They are the eggheads and solving problems is their core mandate.

And the end s shall continue to bear the brunt of the in effectiveness of the president

Why not huridly provide the alternative energy, meter customers before removing the subsidy?.....the assumed corruption in the subsidy has now been transferred to DISCOs to over bill customers not metered.

E no easy to Tinubu

A man came up to sell his competence narrative to govern the country. His slogan was "Emilokan" it's my turn .

Instead for Nigerians to engage him intellectually we were busy casting aspersions at one another along ethnic and religious lines.

He was asked critical questions about his governance propositions next thing was to outsource the answers to his followers πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.That was a big red flag for an intelligent community of electorates rather many were hailing hos smartness of engaging the rules of "teamship"πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

One candidate took time to get to Egypt and understudy the power operations there and all we could say is that he is an opportunistic fraud. The Bulaba himself said "Shey na statistics we go chop"?

Asides Peter Obi there were plethora of candidates there we could as well choose from and see what happens.Instead the people who the power resides with have been battered with poverty to mortgage their future for cups of raw rice.

University Dons were the chief electoral officers agreed to gamble with the nations future by declaring rigged winners of the election.

I am not a Peter Obi relative or a jagabandist.I strongly believe in the advancement of Nigeria.

Make all the university get there own source of generation. Shebi CNG don dey. It can be used to bigger gen. Or get turbine that generate 5 - 10 megaats, link gas pipe to them. Power problem go stop.

Last, let them use there engineering student to manage it.

They should apply for prepaid meter and government should subsidize their electricity bills for a certain period of time

They are just like the Fulani herdsmen. They prefer to continue their old method of doing things even if it is so glaring that method will lead to their demise. They have different options which they won't ever want to exploit. No wonder graduates of our universities are said to be unemployable. Every institution should be forced to build a solar farm or wind vane farm to complement supply from public power. If they do this judiciously, over time they will be selling power to the public. This can be easily achieved by increasing the solar capacity or wind power monthly or quarterly thereby reducing dependence on public power and with time, they will no longer need public power. Big problem, simple solution. I use solar in my house and build it gradually. Now, if NEPA like let them bring light, once their is sun, I will have light and because I use prepaid meter, they can no longer bring any outrageous bill to me.

The professors are the returning officer's during elections and they are in charge of most of the process. You can't eat your cake and have it. So if you deliberately rigged in a particular candidate into office I'm sure everyone will suffer the consequences.

Tah.

If na to talk about no stable electricity in the country you go talk am. Now wey dem say bring money for the few hours wey una use you say universities go collapse. Make E collapse if E want collapse cos of ordinary electricity bill.

Tell them to use the budget for running those big generators in the various universities to pay their electricity bills. How difficult is that?

It's like you get the root cause of the lamentation.
If you hear how much they budget for running generators you will marvel and ask how practical. And it's not that the generators run 24/7.
It will surprise you to know that one of the Uni the FG install high capacity solar power could not maintain it for two years to the extend they have to buidget for diesel to charge the solar batteries.

One will ask what is the work of thos electrical engineer professors that we have in our universities.

I know the reason for his lamentation. No more outrageously high budget for powering generators in the universities. Not that they won’t steal but it won’t be much anymore.

As for those Engineers, it’s just title. Most of them na theory dem know. Practical na zero.

one fool came out to say Band this and that and the whole Nigeria was clapping for him.

This is just the start of it. Hospital bills, food storage (cold rooms, drugs), eateries, Incubation centers, thousands of others will be impacted and who will bear the brunt? Everybody will pay for it because we need these services.

Rent-seeking landed us in this economic problems. People will come online to loaf around after enjoying subsidies on petrol, electricity, food , education and health. How can such a system birth innovation and deep mental thinking ? Provide security, manage population growth, take away or reduce the subsidies and give tax incentives, student loan, etc to unleash our creativity.
how much for student loan, how much for VP resident...may trailer crush you, tinubu and shettima altogether

The VC's are the once that rig in this tinubulation on Nigerians. Anything they see they should take it.

Is that the issue? Learn to contribute with sense so that others can gain from your contributions.

By now, I expect our universities to have gotten their individual Power Plants like Babcock University, Covenant University, Landmark University etc and put an end to relying on NEPA.

The various Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Depts should put their knowledge into practical.
