Does consulate consider the profile of the host of someone visiting usa? Like if the person is a usa citizen or a non-immigrant. Do they consider the finance of the host even if the host is not sponsoring them? What are things to consider for selecting a someone one will be visiting in USA for tourism?

For a US visit visa, the applicant's profile is more significant than that of the host, regardless of whether the host is a citizen or a green card holder.

Note that these consular officers are under time constraints, and they want to make quick decisions based on initial impressions of the applicants, not the host.

Since the applicant is the main focus, the visa officers at the US embassy almost never look at the applicant's documents because they are aware that the majority of these documents can be purchased on the streets.

This is another reason why some applicants who claim they are going on vacation and have no family or friends in the US are granted a visa at a higher rate than those who have relatives. They used hotels.

The visa officer focuses more on the applicant's profile and determines the credibility of the applicant within the 2-minute allotted interview time.

Ma’am /Sir your points don’t apply pls.If you check earlier in the thread around September last year you’ll see that avits was having issues and giving ppl who were eligible for IW interviews, the website also didn’t allow family appointments as at last year so pls ask questions before making assumptions.Ogs on this thread will tell you the issues they ed on the website .

I won't reply after this in order to avoid situations but let me clear out some points.

1. Wealthy people thrice than your dad have been denied in the past on their first time or on renewal.

2. Your dad as a wealthy individual can be suspected of money laundering.

3. Ironically, US embassy suspects professionals (ie engineers, doctors, surgeons, etc) & wealthy individuals who travels too frequently to different countries within the space of short periods than the low or average individuals. The aforementioned are some of the characteristics of drug pushers , terrorists , human traffickers, Money launderers etc.

4. Avits amentum did not mess up your dad. Your agent or the person who handles the application does not have full knowledge about how to navigate family appointment. Besides, the Embassy overturned your dad's IW qualification into physical interview because he was suspected of something and needed to be seen for interrogation.

5..Your dad may have failed to express or explain himself clearly to the consular about his activities in the U.S. (he can be a PhD holder and still failed in this aspect). Most time , our senior citizens especially the wealthy ones can be unfriendly towards the consulars thinking the renewal of his visa is automatic. I have seen an elderly woman shouted on a visa officer in the past.

You can pay into First Bank by walking into a branch or pay online by transfer.

If you want to pay by card, it would have to be a USD card.

Note, even if you want to pay at the bank, you will still need to follow the steps I earlier shared before you can arrive at the payment page and generate the necessary number which will be used to process your payment at the bank

This is a Soliloquy. Post your transcripts so that competent people can guide you. U.S. embassy is not a respecter of any citizen (either rich or poor) except some exclusive government office holders.

The philosophy is everyone going to the U.S. embassy for visa is qualified but visas cannot be given to everybody. Therefore, once you are not able to convince the visa officer then you have more homework to do.

Attend your visa interview as a commonplace citizen & request for the visa with humbleness. Ciao 👍

You were asked which country have you visited? you were not asked to explain which country last visited so hope you understand why she Squeezed her mouth now. The visa officer was with your port and can see the UK visa stamp of entry and your exit. So your explanation would have been necessary if your port was not stamped into UK.

The timeline for processing the visa application is up to 8 weeks. During this process, you will not be able to withdraw your port from the Embassy/Consulate if you you submitted your port for IW and you are yet to get you should only be worried after your 8th week

I guess the officer may have interpreted your indication of December travel to the UK as attempt to score points just for the interview. As was stated, don't give more information than required else it would be taken as desperation to convince visa officer.

My visa was approved 🙄🙄🙄.
I was only asked where I was going to in the us What I was going there to do ,for how long who I was going with and what I do for work .
I’m going alone o and il be staying with my aunt.
They have serious brain damage mahn.

@preshy 2004 Yes it is, always just answer the question asked without giving explanation for what was not asked so that it does not look like you want the visa at all cost. also you were asked if you were travelling with your husband? Does he already have a visa ? if yes hope he also has a clean record cos once they pull up his name and see a red flag that can also affect your chance. If No, I believe you should have appeared for the interview together. Again the information filled in the DS 160 form also goes a long way, a lot of time people go for interview with research of how to answer question they read online. No two answers are the same cos the sample answer are usually based on what was filled in the form.

Hi guys, I am just providing an update on my visa to give hope to those who are still waiting. I submitted my port for renewal on the 3rd of April and here is my timeline.

Submitted: April 3rd
App received: April 8th
Refused status: April 22nd
istrative processing: May 6th
Approved: May 6th (no interview, I was praying to God everyday to change my refused to approved and he Delivered!!)
Issued: May 7th
Current status: Waiting for pick up mail

Overall, it took a little over a month to get here and I am sharing so those of you still waiting can have an idea of the current timeline for IW. Keep your faith and keep praying and It will surely come out!

Thanks for sharing your transcript and making the forum richer, a lot of people shy away from this, especially following a negative outcome.

Do you really do not have a family or relative in the US? Asking if you have a child in the US is not a generic question, though the follow up question about if you know someone is generic.

I'm assuming she's seeing something and that was the reason she asked about a child, with a follow up about if you know anyone at all, and your answers probably did not align.

Based on personal experience, I don't think dwelling on your last trip is sufficient to damage the entire interview. The interviewer may sneer at it as show-off, but I wouldn't want to believe her decision will be based solely on that. I may also be wrong anyways as US visa interviews can be subjective.

Though no 2 interviews are same, but during my interview in March for a visa I applied for conference and tourism afterwards, I earlier traveled in Feb and had to update my DS-160 form just to include this and when I was asked about previous travels, it was my first response, and I placed emphasis on it "...that I recently traveled to Paris and Dubai last month, bla bla bla, and last year I went to Spain and UK, and previous years to ....."

She (interviewer) then said all my travels seem to be directed at similar event to what I'm using as justification to apply for the US visa and I answered in the negative, saying one of my trips, to Spain was with my wife just for vacation to enjoy ourselves together without the kids. I provided that extra info and I could see her nodding, smile and just typing and typing. It'd seem the interaction wrapped up shortly after this.
