Like I said recently, the wheel of justice has been hijacked by the politicians and judicial system is being enslaved at will.

Falana you are one of the problem, by always interpreting case in your opinion before any judgement from the court.

Who is this chronic ignoramus?

There's no judiciary any more. Infact there's no single arm of govt that's working or active. Both the judiciary and legislative hv been pocketed by the executive.

Is it the docile CJN that's busy following the president everywhere commissioning roads in Abuja that will control the judges under him, or challenges the executive anti people policy'?? BTW iv never seen any European leader commissioning project or cutting red tape. China opened the biggest bridge in the world, they only declared it open,I didn't see any pics of Ji Xinping cutting any red tapes or commissioning it.

Two different judges giving conflicting judgement over same issue, and the NJC abi NjO remain silent and also confused.
Kudos to the US supreme Court. That's an example of a working institution.
I pray in my next life, I come as a Yoruba boy of America decent or a Dutch.
Wetin do North Korea and Myanmar ?

Hm.

Well said by Mr. Falana, SAN.
Both cases are worsened by several litigations or undue interference by the courts. That if Rivers state is very clear, in that there was a Supreme Court ruling on that in 2012. How the courts want to set us back is unbelievable.

In all, we just wait to see how they all play out.

Like they are not even hiding the illegalities again ! Like challenging what the Supreme Court has ruled on !
The confidence is what bothers me now !
This country might never get it right again .

Hope they won't call you an omo ale for saying the obvious truth. Kano and rivers judicial matters are so embarrassing. You dont even have to be a lawyer to know this. A copy of the Nigerian constitution makes this clear. Everybody should have a copy.

Nigeria is in a complete mess under tinubu

Judiciary is just an embarrassment in this country. The issue of kingship or emirate is purely local matter and not for the federal government. Tinubu is watching this country degenerated under his watch.

You want Tinubu to intervene on an issue that is strictly State affairs, again? Wetin concern the president for Emirship tussle? Na wa o. Are people this mooked up?

The implications of his opinion before the judgment is, if the judge rules against falana opinion the person that is affected by the ruling will claim the judge was wrong and the person will keep on referring to falana opinion.

How can Judiciary rule against legislative law. Is their job not interpretation of the law.
That's because the constitution gives them the power of judicial review. It is still part of their broader role of law interpretation.

Judicial review entails that executive, legislative and istrative actions of government are subjected to the process of judicial review where they declare actions of government vires or ultra-vires.
If any executive or legislative action is beyond the power given to them, the Judiciary is empowered by the constitution to declare it ultra-vires and hence null and void.

There is uniform local government system in Nigeria and tenure of office of office of local government istration is clearly spelt out by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Until that part of the constitution is amended, no legislative authority in any state can make a law extending the tenure of office of any local government chairman which the constitution prescribes to be 3 years

This is the judicial chaos, anarchy, impunity, confusion and lawlessness the APC has turned this nation into. They simply love it that way but Nigeria must overcome this shit.

Sadly, the 'overcoming' is obviously impossible with the tools they're using on the masses.

It's all for their gains and the country Nigeria is gone to the dogs. No thanks to the former governor of Lagos Tinubu.

Nigerians shout democracy without understanding all the rudiments. They think that it ends with elections and casting of votes. Nigeria has no systemic foundation to democracy.

The balance of power among the three arms of government and their oversights are clearly spelt out in US Constitution. But in Nigeria, the executive pockets everyone because the people are in positions they don't understand.

A former US President, Donald Trump is being dragged by a prosecutor under an equivalent of a local government. A sitting President's son has just been convicted in US. Can this happen in Nigeria? We are pretentious at best and quick to mouth off on catch words and phrases we read in textbooks. Nigeria is still under dictatorship. As a matter of fact, dictatorship and democracy is a matter of semantics in Nigeria.

Who is to blame? We are a people that's known to be delusional and who find comfort in living in denial
