oga , if you like , make pesticide and fertilizers drop like heavy rain , it won't help a thing in Nigeria today. .

Everybody is just focused on POFRN. Nobody is talking about their governor or LG chairman. One LGA in Adamawa can feed the whole of Lagos state and one free trade fair zone in Lagos can generated profit to pay one state civil worker salary. Why aren't we seening that synagey?

Is not rock science. Farmer in the north can't go to their farm, the small beans I have I rather sell to others countries like Mali, Sudan, Niger, so I can get dollars cause Naira let me not say.

We can make our country great believe me.

be objective for once. Na Tinubu dey produce/sell beans?
That is the sense you don’t have.. The economy is not working because of stupid policies by Tinubu. So farmers need increase prices of their commodities to meet up with the prices of things going up.. Traders will do same.. Transportation is high because of the subsidy that he removed that he is still paying.. If you want to enjoy cheap beans,Enter bush go plant am yourself

I will suggest that Nigerians boycott some of these perishable foods. Let these greedy farmers suffer heavy loss.

It is not proper that federal government will fund these farmers to encourage self sufficiency but yet, these greedy bastards will still make these foods non affordable for common man
How can you boycott beans when meat and fish are expensive

Beans are been exported out of the country to Niger.

Reason been that Nigeria beans is now cheaper because of the country currency devaluation.

That why the price of beans went up after border was reopen.

That is the main reason coupled with insecurity in the North.

I think the temporary solution is to eat alternatives to beans - protein.

So if I am a farmer for instance, I produce Garri and Beans from my farm, and I/my kids need rice, Spaghetti and I also need cement to build my farm fence, need to buy petrol to power my farm equipment and generator, and also need to pay my children school fees and pay for electricity and other utility bills. So because I want my farm produce to be affordable for Nigerians, I will not factor in the money I will need to buy cement and other things I need that are currently being sold at exorbitant prices in the market and just sell my Garri and Beans to you at former cheap price?

Blame the incompetent and insensitive Nigerian President who makes policies out of emotion and personal sentiment without weighing the options and the demerits of his actions.

CBN is getting it all wrong.

--- Increasing interest rate is the least of Nigeria's Problem
--- Increasing the fractional reserve ratio IS ALSO the LEAST of Nigeria's Problem

What exactly is Nigeria's Problem Economically speaking??

1) Farmers don't plant enough to go round

2) Too much money in circulation via loans. I've created a way to solve that already

https://nairaland.unblockandhide.com/8101772/nigerias-inflation-introduction-subsidy-old

2) The available food crop then acts like a mop to absorb the excess money in the economy

And guess what?

Food price rises.

Understand this: ITS NOT the price of food rising. ITS THE VALUE OF MONEY DECLINING

Minimum wage has increased but Boko Haram hasn't been tackled so Farmers cant return to their farms.

Now what exactly is the minimum wage going to do?? You have physical money but you don't have physical food because insurgents are driving your Farmers away from their farms

The excess.money now goes into importing food further reducing the value of our naira. And you hear people complain months after that the new minimum wage isn't enough

I detailed this here
https://nairaland.unblockandhide.com/8081414/nigerias-inflation-state-federal-governments

THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM regarding Nigeria's economic mess IS KNOWN. EVEN THE BLING CAN SEE IT CLEARLY

Fix this and a 50kg bag of rice becomes #25000 or less before December 2025
https://nairaland.unblockandhide.com/8107351/nigerias-govt-alternative-minimum-wage

Good luck!

In summary, because production is low, demand is higher than supply, inflating the prices of everything.

When Nigeria ran out places to demand locally, it started demanding internationally what it used to produce before. Further devaluing the naira.
samwash(m): 8:35pm On Jun 09, 2024
For price of food to drop drastically in the local market, the government (FG,State& LG) has a major role to play by first providing security for the farmers to farm before other things fall into place.
Where there's no farming, you can't talk about fertilizer, loans or even harvesting.
No farming No harvesting No food.

Go and farm with government funds.
You are not complaining about high cost of farm inputs you are insulting people that are still trying to make food available.
As at January, Cutlass was sold for #1500 but by April that same Cutlass is now #6000. So is the farmers fault right?
Fertilizer was #18k last year but today is above #50k. So it's that farmers fault right.

My brother withdraw that your statement and ask for forgiveness.

Thank you.

Let them go and farm so that supply will be much.

Inputs has increased by over 300% which makes most farmer to farm less and some didn't bother to farm.

Normally, beans used to be expensive at 3 to 4 years intervals and the inflation of the country added more to it this year. So by August of this year, the new beans will be coming out from niger republic before the harvest period from Nigeria in Nov.
The beans were also too expensive 3years or 4yrs ago if I didn't mistakenly.

All the grains will be coming down in the harvest period from August to December before we will witness another scarcity during the off-peak period in next year.

The most likely cause, because Niger, Cameroon have capacity to produce more than us coupled with, inflation and insecurity in the north east which border these countries.

oga , if you like , make pesticide and fertilizers drop like heavy rain , it won't help a thing in Nigeria today. Every hawker , conductor or okada wants to own and drive Venza overnight from their petty businesses

Nigerians are wicked to themselves. Some are selling soft drinks for 350 and some 400 today. Ask them , they have no reasons. From my estate to the Bustop was #100. They shot it up to #200 during the fuel scarcity. Now that the fuel is down , they make all manner of excuses, not the fuel anymore.

Sorry to say that it is like the crop of Abokis coming to Lagos for business and okada are already given the orientation to show no mercy. They don't pay tax , they don't rent house , they don't even buy soap to bathe or wash their wears . Toothpaste is not for them but they love money more than those who spend on those items.
They will never remove shi shi from their goods .

You are blessed. This is the reason. Nigerians want to make money overnight from the smallest petty business. I stay in the rurals foods is cheap, very cheap, when I hear the cost it is being sold in cities I almost weep

Paint of Dried Cassava is sold here wholesale price 1,800 Naira. In the city, it is retailed at 6,000 Naira, is this fair ?
