Exactly

People think it is that huge a money. But No it isn't. Apart from few states like Lagos and Abuja. The rest will use it to pay salaries with little or nothing else remaining for critical infrastructure and the likes

The best is having true federalism with a percentage being sent to the federal government.

We need states that can stand on their own as they need the money most and not sharing Peanuts every now and then

P.S. I am not saying the Govornors too are not thieves, but most of them have their hands tied already
bro you're right 👍 but states are getting more funding but their recurrent expenditure still remain the same since they refuse to increase salaries of workers

If the revenues are mostly generated by a specific tribe, that means using your logic, south eastern states should generate the most, because they are concentrated the most there?

That's about $1 billion to maintain 36 states and FCT made up of over 220 million people. That's peanut! We can do better if these people can diversity the economy and help businesses in the country.

Peanut... Yet, a single governor like Bello can siphon Billions.

The size of the allocation is not as important as how judicious it is used for the citizens' welfare.

As you triple the income of this nation, that's how the sufferings will triple due to tripled opportunities for those in power to steal!

Corruption will keep this nation in retrogression.

What are the governors doing with our money

Many of the state governors no longer see that their states extend beyond the state capital.
Such dubious governors indulge in knocking down infrastructures in their state capital to rebuild, or build unnecessary flyovers in the state capital; while other areas in their state degenerate to the stone age.

Imo is nicknamed the Demolition headquarters of Nigeria.
There is supposed to be an office in the Presidency to checkmate this evil phenomenon. When the military govt ruled, an office in Abuja checkmated the state governors or state s.

If you want your paymaster to be totally absolved of any blame,he should immediately gather all his loyalists at the national assembly and lobby for the following ....

1.Implement an independent state and LGA policing and remove ur influence as president from the appointment of the IGP

2.Remove resource control from exclusive to concurrent list

3.Give license to other states with ports

4.Remove your influence and power of appointment of IGP,CJN and INEC chairman

5.Grant LGAs with financial autonomy

Until this is done,we will keep blaming the president!
