Where was Nigeria's government when Warri indigenes were using illegal levies to kill Warri Port? It's like people who insinuate that too many Igbos settle in Lagos, whereas the people knew very well that the ports in Lagos were what government ed to function many years after the civil war. If Nigeria's government ed Warri port, there is no way indigenes would succeed in using illegal levies to kill the port. 2 Likes |

onuman: I agree with you, but if government sent in the security services , many of us will shout persecution and start long story about how they are doing it because government no dey provide jobs. It's going to take more than government moving in. Nigerians have to learn that if they want investment, they should not be doing mafiya style things. 2 Likes |

Wafi never still learn. Na so they pursue all oil companies out from warri turning warri to a semi ghost town that it is today. In the 90s warri was a bubling town with a lot of prospects from oil company activities but now nothing is happening in warri.

SensualMan: The Warri guys, will never learn. It will hit them hard soonest. I have lived and work in that port for sometimes, the attitude of the youths in that place is too bad. Give them jobs, they won't work, only to claim ownership mentality. Warri used to be the hub of business before, but their ownership mentality has driven lots of investors out of the place. NPA quarters is now gone, no serious business is going there. Shops there are empty. They will soon regret, just like what happened, when the oil companies left the area in droves. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Well, it's only some select few that benefit from such practices. Until elites and so called educated know that Africa is for the strongest, touts and nonentities will continue to govern them even in their local communities by the power of the trigger.

When a crime continues to take place openly while the appropriate authorities turn a blind eye, just know it's a syndicated affair with the tacit approval of some people high up there. The SS has continued to draw the attention of the FG of the need of reviving the Warri ports and others in the region. Now that activities are beginning to pick up gradually, lo and behold, here comes touts and criminals disguising as so-called indigenes. This "indigene" is not even from the area, in the first place! The authorities must sanitize activities at the Warri Ports if it won't go comatose once again. @hotseat |
