All this our agency are only creating an avenue to make Nigerians suffer, imagine me that use my number to for nin in 2011 and collected the slip after some years ed the NIMC app on my phone installed it, got an otp from NIMC to activate the app and also linked 3 of my other numbers, also used that same number for my bvn, and TIN, can you believe that same number was bar from making call because of nin, and i have retrieve or did sim swap on that same number more than 3 times in mtn office in Benin, Lagos, and Warri, I called the customer service line and i was told I need to visit their office to link my number again that my biometrics was not well captured, and or my picture was not captured, and i went to their office, if you see the crowd nobody will tell you to go home and try another day and you know the annoying thing is that people are bribing with as much as 5 to 8k just to link their numbers with mtn, but Airtel and Glo have no crowd just walk in and in 5 minutes you are good to go.

So terrorists and kidnappers can still text and make calls on lines without NIN for the next 180days?! These people ain’t serious. Just block all those lines for Pete’s sake!

What of my 9mobile that ain't got no network at all, how can I link it?

I don't even know if they have any office here on earth, maybe I will have to travel to the moon in search of their office.

You should focus your energy on porting from 9Mobile to another network. It's what I did when their network was down for days, late last month.

Immediately the 9Mobile network came back up, I rushed to the MTN office close to my house and ported to MTN. During the process of porting, the new network will your NIN.

Whilst I was there, I met scores of people who came to port from 9Mobile also. The MTN staff who attended to me said they get more than 20 people seeking to port everyday.

Apparently, 9Mobile is a dying network and everyone appears to be leaving. You should do so before they crash finally.

What about people who linked Nin to their phone yet the ntw keeps barring them? I'm tired of MTN barring my line even after linking NIN..

Too much of a crowd, although the NIMC management has decentralized it to all the local government headquarters and state capitals but in some states it is not easy to get

Thanks for the advice.

The only reason am still using it is because it's one of my first mobile numbers. They don't even sell 9mobile recharge cards in my neighborhood anymore, if not for mobile banking no way to recharge it. grin

I don't really understand this porting stuff, do you mean if I visit any MTN office they would change my 9mobile line to MTN while I still retain the number?

Yes, they would port you from the 9Mobile network to their MTN network. You will still retain the phone number, but it would officially become an MTN line.

Nigeria is a failed state. People keep targetting whatever president is on the seat, not knowing he is only a product of the failed nation. You know how many president I don see? On every level of authority, Nigerians all the same: lower human capacity. And you'll be blaming Oyibo for concluding you're inferior humans. IT IS TRUE!

I am currently having same challenge. The GLO SIM that l have been using for the past 15 years was barred yesterday. No Calls/SMS in and out. Its so frustrating that GLO customer care staff told me they cannot do anything about it. They said its NCC issue... I am very angry right now..
