August last year I bought a 180w solar , 65AH deep cycle battery, 500w solar inverter, 30A charge controller, and a 10m wire(red and black). I ordered the items online from Jumia, after reading the manual and watching YouTube solar installation videos, I did the connections and installations all by myself with no prior knowledge of electrical works. So far so good, no regrets as I now enjoy 24/7 uninterrupted power supply for my Laptop, phone and light.

Truvelisback:I use a 3.5kva in my office with 4 tubular batteries I notice that it works better when charged with electricity due to the load in my officr when the weather is fair then then am sure the batteries will last between 9am to about 4.30pm before we switch to generator however when there is electricity for few hours then we wnt have need for a generator 1 Like |

Lekan239: The inverter is 3.6kva. The solar works during the day and batteries at night, assuming there is no light (we usually have light shortly before dark and all through the night) In any case I have a 3 year warranty, with proper use and maintenance which the installer will carry out. So if there are ever any issues, it is the supplier, not me that will be “shocked” 1 Like |

Love800: Yes it's called going off Grid. It's expensive to go off Grid but it's necessary with the way Nigeria is going because, everybody want to eat each other. So anything to avoid government will be cool. An equivalent of 3000VA generator is 7m at the moment. Very expensive. Therefore, I suggest you use solar and nepa alone. Use 1.5m buy solar and back up with nepa. |

BigDawsNet: STRONG ABUSE. People abuse this things perhaps due to ignorance. My wife is an example. She go argue with you say, provided say na wetin them build that thing for, you suppose use am like slave. Nothing like safety measures like using 50% of the installed capacity. People use UpTo 90-95% of the installed capacity. This is where the problem starts 3 Likes |

jerobua: You are very right you don’t have to sustain on only solar it will even damage your battery phone battery and shorten the life of your appliances I swear nothing like raw electricity |
BigDawsNet: 1:36pm On Feb 19, 2024 |
theamazonguru: Now I understand... Anyway I don't blame people for over using the battery... It's the fault of the government when they refuse to provide electricity... ofcourse people will find alternative from things around them... If we hav enough power... I'm sure the battery will last well |

My brother, if have the resources to go for Solar please don't waste time. I have saved a lot of money since August 1 2023 they installed it for me in a 3 Bedroom flat (Rented). I spent 2.5m for installing Solar. 6 s 550 watts (long ) 4 Tubular batteries 220Ah 5KVA Inverter Circuit breaker It powers (1) Haier Termacool Deep Freezer 379 liters (inverter) (2) Samsung double door Fridge (inverter) 3) LG washing machine 9 kg (inverter) 4) 240 kg Air frier not deep frier ooo ( we off everything when in use) 5) 43 inches LG televisions x2 that runs almost 24 hours 6) qasa electric iron 1,200 watts. Since that August1, I have not on my generator It starts charging from may be 8.30 am Truvelisback: 2 Likes |

mrvitalis:I am curious. Do you seriously expect him to put price on that flyer? With the very unstable economy where you can buy something today for N1000 and tomorrow it might be N2000. I am currently working on a tilling project. I bought 5 bags of cement on a Saturday for 5600. The next day I ordered for 5 more, the price had become 5700. 3 days later it became 7000. That same day it became 7200. The last one I bought was 10,000. Right now cement is N13,000. Just imagine the seller has a flyer and had put price at N5,600. what do you think would have happened 3 days later when price rose up to 7200, and then now that it got to 13k. Won't that render all the flyers useless? If you happen to be a buyer won't you argue with him on the current market price as against the price quoted on the flyer? No business worth his onions will put any price on any product right now. Enter market right now, the price they will give you will be different from what you will get when you come back in the evening. |
