Na by first class? Tinubu get first class? His father is a prof in the same unilag so that says it all.
Tinubu got first class equivalent

His dad na prof for engineering dept, definitely he was aided to his first class by his dad's fellow lecturers.they will want to be careful when marking his script .
If his dad was not a professor he won't smell 5.0 gpa.
Those vultures will mark him down ,if you know you know.
He may not even have gotten a first class ina different university.

The advantage that he had was too great.

Good materials, private tutor, counsellor, and someone to defend his result.
Even the mere fact that his father is a professor would prevent other lecturers from marking him down

Anyway, life is not fair and he is lucky.

But if Unilag wants to do the right thing, they better give the next fellow on the CGPA list as the valedictorian of the year.

That's the true valedictorian.

Stop capping!

For him to have a perfect CGPA, he must be very brainy!

Your Parent's connections can make you , but not give you As all through.

Besides how did he get a job in an international Consulting firm?

Leg too?

Abegi!

What is stop capping?...some courses are influenced. This person am talking about made a very high distinction but we all know even though he could have made 72% but not very that high. This is Nigeria. He was pushed.

He had a lot of undue advantage.
That's a fact, that even he himself would not deny if he is honest.

No parent would not want to give their children an advantage, if it is within their power.

It's not even very ethical for him to gain ission in the same department where his father is a professor but that's a question for saner climes.

I would rather congratulate the next person on the list.

That's my own valedictorian.

Please, stop this nonsense. This is education not politics. What has ethics got to do with studying in a University and department where your father works. So, because he dreams of becoming a Civil Engineer and gaining ission to one of the best Universities in Nigeria, he should kill that dream because of his father

I thought as much too. But it's engineering. It's like maths, you can't fake it.

Not when you already know the questions before the exams.๐Ÿ™‚

Small small oga!

Bosun was highest in Jamb.

You don dey lie am!

Bosun was my senior. He was highest in jamb.
And highest in Waec.

In fact for Waec they had to remark bosun papers and another guy from another school at the behest of our principal then.

If I recall he scored 349 in jamb back then. And we all knew the story back then. He deliberately didn't want to score too high.

Guy. Bosun came second in SAT 1
And first in SAT 2.

Before heading off to MIT after tonnes of scholarships he beat everyone in unilag in engineering in his first semester....

Oya counter me

You guys saying this are very funny. Do you have an idea what it takes to get a 5.0 overall GPA? You think it is only that department's curses he did throughout his 4 years at the university?

The most interesting fact here is that he graduated from the international School, university of Ibadan.
My alma mater.

That's to me still the best secondary school in the history of this country. Quote me if u like, even this guy can't stand toe to toe with his former seniors like bosun adeoti and his colleagues.

For the records, I ISI was once ranked 3rd best secondary school in the country back then.

Students that year ehn.

Dem dey break records for SAT exams.

I bosun came out tops in the world in SAT 2

femi4:
Did your school ever produce the best in Waec or Jamb? If they didn't, they are not best in the Country

Bosun is with google in the US. If it's the same Bosun Adeoti, he also had the highest score in JAMB in 1999. Got issions into OAU Elect Elect program, but travelled to the US before resumption.

He should create his own thing with sand and gravel? Where does he get the capital to create his own thing after graduating with a 5.0? He should go and hawk La Casera right?

Y`all just be talking "start your own thing" as if he will start with water!

Yes. 3 times for Waec.

For jamb, bosun adeoti held the record for many many years 347 or 349 back in 2000 or so.

Ibadan was hot then O.

Abadina college also won best in Waec
One school like that in Moniya also won.

I finished in 2002 after then all the teachers were sacked and stuffs like that.

So am still happy someone frm my alma mater is making waves

The fact that his dad is a prof in his depth makes everything fishy....I hope he can back it up
Nothing fishy about it. During my time at OAU, a final year part 5 elect student was rusticated for cheating. His dad was a professor in the same department.

You're so shallow, let's even say you can buy grades in most schools, can you buy 5.0?

You think 5.0 is something all professors in that faculty will just throw away cox the student is a son of one of them?

Nigerians and their very low mentality

The thing tire me. Many people are not deep thinkers in this country.

They even saw the employers name...a whole BCG and think the guy will be one average material or doesn't merit it....

congrats Engr. All the best in your future endeavors.

By the way OP, you did not mention about his Jamb score. I am interested because there is a debate we once heard about people that score the highest in Jamb are definitely brilliant but there are candidates' more brilliants than them who did not emerge as highest jamb scorer. I have observed with most best graduating students, while their Jamb scores are usually great, they do better overall CGPA than some people that usually have higher Jamb scores than them.

No, he should apply to another school.

There is a conflict of interest here, but you are a Nigerian so I am sure you can't see it.

Unilag should have bounced his ission, but I am sure he even got in easier because of his Father.

So, if his dream is to Unilag, he shouldn't because of his father? Should also risk his safety because of his father?

Also, that there are courses he did outside his department too. Will you say his father also influenced them too?

Just my opinion. Bosun records were just something else. He did both science and art courses and was tops. So my school had to introduce 2nd and third place prizes.

Mind u those coming 2nd or 3rd were losing to him by .5 or 1 mark or at most 2.

Then he broke jamb record.
And scored highest in Waec.

Was highest in the world in SAT 2

Went to unilag or oau beat them all.

Went to MIT and was second best

He even had issues with the lecturers cos he was correcting their manuscripts.

U know anything maths, physics, chemistry, bosun was a don

Na the fellow classmates I even blame.
Dem just dull.

If it was in America, and the students sue his father and the university for undue advantage and sharp practices, Unilag would have done the right thing and learned a lesson.

Shame no go even let them give a student whose father is his own lecturer a first class, let alone as valedictorian.

Yes.
Or his father should resign.

That's what a conflict of interest is.

That was why the former minister of power had to resign, because his company was bidding for a FG contract.

But ofcourse, that one don too spend time for America, so he is not used to Nigeria.
