Yesterday we were craving beans n pap,I soaked the beans for like 30 minutes before boiling with hot-plate since there was light.

After putting everything,I said let me just rest a little ,that was how I dozed off due to lack of rest and adequate sleep.

Only to be jolted out of my sleep by smoke everywhere ,na so my beans take burn.

I had to save the savable part make I nor do 2 zeros in this teeth biting economy.

Imagine if I had used the gas na so I for take burn the entire house.

Last two weeks I was warming ogbono soup on fire and I stepped out and told my son to wait at home lemme rush to get something. The soup started burning but my son couldn't switch off the gas because I have warned him never to touch the gas knobs. He ran out to call me as i was rushing to come home to come put off the gas. Everywhere was filled with smoke after turning off the gas. I started blaming my son for not turning the gas off since it was an emergency. The boy reminded me that he was told not to touch the gas knobs.

We had to wait outside the house for thirty minutes for the smoke to die down. Luckily for me my pot wasn't difficult to wash because it was non-stick

Nothing you will tell I love burnt jollof rice. I can go heaven and earth for it.

My son also did same....He loves food to a fault,could when I completely forgotten that I was cooking rice,then went to my neighbors compound to get something,I completely forgot I was cooking,my son who was sleeping woke up to turn it off,that he doesn't want the food to get shortened.

Best Beans is 2nd day or 3rd day warmed , slightly burnt & down pot side.. with fresh agege bread 🍞, no better palm oil here... na why I miss this

It did happen when I was still a bachelor back then. Cooked beans with "boiling ring" in a plastic container.

Just wanted to soften it and complete the cooking on the hot plate later!

Then sleep came!

Woke up later and there was no electricity fortunately!
Plastic container has melted! The rug was bad burnt!
Half of the beans burnt with rug and plastic!

But I thank God PHCN took light that night! I for don burn for house that day! I still salvaged a little beans to cook on the hot plate later!
