Houseontherock1:Money is needed to find Tinubu family's luxury lifestyles. Yatch for Oga and SUVs for Remi and Seyi. Where do you want the money to come from? Strangle the poor to feed the rich. 1 Like |

40% of whatever is earned. Not a specific or fixed amount. If you earn 1000 naira, remit 400. If you make 200 naira, na still 40% u go pay and not 400 naira.. The statement also says, institutions partially funded by the govt. So to now say they will increase fees no go still stop Dem from remitting the 40%. Na still same |

ijustdey:A very gud move.Bt it will be a disaster if government does not increase funding for student loan to be able to meet up with the hike. Truth is its only in naija that universities are fully funded. They are supposed to source their funds by being better therefor attracting more students. |

DrMuzungu:and most students are already against the increased payments ,so how does the school now cope when more people drop out and less revenue comes in from school fees? I see it as a way to kill off these public schools, something ASUU has been fighting against all this time. But i guess everyone is not bothered anymore, how many good lecturers are even still around? Most have left the shores of the country for other places, 1 Like |

Na now we go know if the universities are generating enough internally or not
|
Lordsonn: 11:51am On Nov 07, 2023 |
NNPCL is not remitting anything and the government did not do anything. How can universities remit 40% and still maintain internal expenditure without increasing school fees for more than 40%? This is bad

Tinubu want to gather back the money he has scattered all around in bribes, on his way to Aso rock. The other day, they talked about taxing bettors and now they want to automatically deduct 40% IGR from Universities that are poorly funded. A satanic criminal currently occupies Aso rock. Shege banza and shege coming with thunder is what awaits 200 million people. 2 Likes 1 Share |

ijustdey: Handing over the education ministry to the sahelians is arguably the worst mistake Tinubu has made thus far! He has effectively handed the next generation to this destiny laggards....sad that we still do not get it! |

Honestly, 40% is too small. These institutions generates money and spend it anyhow and still depend on government for salary, projects and everything. These institutions collect acceptance fees, school fees and misuse all without executing any project on their own. Some schools run part time, pre degree and regular studies but nothing to show for it but to wait for government for salaries. Some higher institutions have up to 50,000 students. What are they using those money for

forgiveness: How does this defend the FG asking for 40% of the revenue? Are you da.ft or something? Which American universities? |
forgiveness: 12:35pm On Nov 07, 2023 |
InyinyaAgbaOku: Are you expecting the government to fund the universities and pay salaries without generating from the universities? |
Maize247(f): 12:43pm On Nov 07, 2023 |
Imagine a university generating over 10 billion a year and does not want the government to look into their . Multiply N100,000 by 20,000 students. Acceptance fee is their, post utme fees is their and others. Government are not supposed paying them salary with the amount of money the vc have access to. A government Arabic school was discovered to have generated over 300million but was able to remit just little recently. Government should make them remit almost everything
|
Maize247(f): 12:45pm On Nov 07, 2023 |
InyinyaAgbaOku:Infact, everything should be remitted to the government in the first instance |

The impact will be huge! 1. Schools will triple fees resulting to… 2. ..:Parents won’t cope with the increase resulting to… 3. Students will drop out resulting to… 4. Crime rate will increase and… 5. Fewer students who can pay resulting to… 6. Not enough money to run the school at scale resulting to… 7. Quality of education dropping further… 8. Lecturers will continue leaving for abroad all resulting to 9. Collapse of Nigerian Education system thereby… 10. Helping to validate those who believe that “school na scam” and there goes the country 2 Likes |
