The counsel of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has explained why the party got favoured in the just concluded Kano election tribunal.

The election tribunal had sacked the incumbent governor of Kano state, Abba Kabir Yusuf and declared APC’s Nasiru Gawuna as the duly elected candidate.

Yusuf, who contested on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), was declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after the poll in March.

But on Wednesday, the three-man , after hearing the petitions, ordered the withdrawal of the certificate of return which INEC presented to Yusuf and directed a certificate of return to be issued to Gawuna.

The court deducted 165,663 votes from Yusuf’s total as invalid votes, stating that the affected ballot papers were not stamped or signed and therefore declared invalid.

According to the counsel, they presented over 160,000 invalid ballot papers used in the election and it is on this basis that the court declared Gawuna winner.

I do not know if this is Democaracy, warpedcracy or what ??

Instead wasting time and resources conducting elections, we should just be telling judges to choose who will be president or Governor. Since the judges are wisemen, wiser than all the voters, wiser than everybody

Else how do you explain that millions of people can vote for someone and 3 human beings (i mean just 3 bloody human beings) can meet somewhere and, after drinking ogogoro together, overturn the whole thing and instal someone that nobody voted for

Petitioners at the Tribunal are expected to provide evidences of their allegations in all irregularities they hold claims on.

The court rules based on convincing evidences recognised by act legislated into law before them and not oral claims of irregularities or regulatory guidelines issued by institution created by legislated law.

This is how to win petition at election tribunals.

Bring concrete evidence that cannot be jettisoned.

Not just making noise on social media and threatening judges.

Look at the evidence! Clean and clear.
But when you didn't bring evidence how can you expect the judges to rule in your favor?

Elections are not won with emotional blackmail.
