The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has reinstated the Labour Party House of Representatives member, Ngozi Okolie, as the duly elected member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency elections.

The Appellate court on Thursday set aside the judgement of the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal which had declared Ndudi Elumelu of the People’s Democratic Party as winner of the election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared that Okolie garnered 53,879 votes to defeat his closest rival and then incumbent representative, Hon Ndudi Elumelu, who polled 33,456 votes.

But the tribunal sacked Okolie on the grounds that the politician was not duly nominated by the Labour Party.

However, in its decision on Thursday, the appeal court overruled the tribunal.

It held that the LP candidate was validly nominated and sponsored contrary to the findings of the lower court.

So fast? I thought the Appeal Courts are just starting the process of receiving appeals from the tribunal?

And this is the final bus stop for Legislators.

NB: Stop inheriting politicians enemies. They will eat and dine together when the time comes. We the people should seek for ability and together will prevail.

Tribunal court to the mud. I pray all sacked LP candidates be reinstated back by the appeal court. How can someone with a clear margin of win be told he didn't win based on party matters?

When Obidients win, they wouldn't complain, but if it was the other way round, they would have started the insults and attacks on our esteemed judiciary.

Thankfully, Supreme Court will soon dismiss their appeal at the Presidential level and hopefully they will rest for 3 years till Peter Obi decides to wake wake time again.

Good.

The truth is that everywhere LP won, they actually won. It's only via technicalities that dey can be displaced.

People who hold this kind of reasoning are very dumb.

It is like an A student who was cruelly failed by an evil lecturer...

When he made a complaint someone started reminding him not to complain since he has had an A in another subject.

So if you take someone to court and he wins the case, it should be that next time your madness drives to take him to court, it will be your to win despite the hopelessness of your argument?

Which kind of senselessness is this?

Let LP breath, the good people of Aniocha and oshimili want Okoli. The people voted for him.Ned is from Aniocha north,so it is very wrong for same local government area to produce rep.

It has started. All these illegal verdicts given by various election tribunals will definitely be upturned by the grace of God. Darkness may take charge at first but when light comes, it will definitely override the darkness. There is still hope for Peter Obi who is Nigerians rightful President. God is still in charge.

I share this sentiment.

I personally don’t believe someone that duly won the election should be sacked because of internal party issue.

INEc should have validated everything needed before election and there should be a window for that.

Same fate awaits all the tribunal disqualifying LP candidates for pre election related matter. The new position is that except a candidate is disqualified by the constitution, you cannot challenge his nomination by his political party in election petition.

someone who has been a legislator for God knows how long with no single constituency projects what kind of selfishness is this... Did they bury their umbilical cord in the house of representatives for goodness sake...
