Ailing Russian economy? Where do you people read your news from? The same economy that is growing faster than (EU's largest economy)? You don't even have an idea how this trade is done. Global wheat prices have gone up. Russia sells at a discount based on that and still makes a lot of money due to the increase in price globally. Take for example their oil. They were selling to EU countries at about $30/barrel before the war. As prices went up in the international market to over $80, they sell at discounts for over $60 cos they produce a lot of it, and still make a lot of profit. Meanwhile their budget was made using $30 or thereabouts. With this, they can effectively finance their war and still have lots of money left to do other things.
