Please I need a clarification on this question below:-

I'm going for 2 years course which will ended in August 2025 and my port will expire in March 2025, now my study visa as been approved but till validity of my port in March 2025 instead of August 2025.

I know I will extend my study permit when I enter Canada but what about my spouse and kids that their port still valid for 5 years? are they going to issue their visa according to my own validity or they will get their visa completely?

Please, I don't have an answer to your question. I just need help. How do I go about canada's study visa in order for it to be approved.
Do you have an agent or did you apply yourself?

Hello everyone,

I recently received an offer for an MBA program to commence in the fall and have made a CAD$3000 ission deposit. My husband will be my financial sponsor as he has enough savings to cover my tuition fees as well as my own savings which will more than cover all living costs.

My husband intends to travel with me to Canada during the initial settling period to assist with the relocation process, but return to Nigeria to continue his full time job, and visit Canada periodically for the duration of my studies. He could apply for a visitor visa, however it takes up to a year to process based on testimony from relatives who’ve applied recently.

Would it be advisable for him to apply as a dependent as part of the study permit process even though he is also my sponsor and actually intends to remain in our home country due to his strong ties to his current job?

In my research so far, these seem to be my options
1. My husband applies as a dependent and we state in the study plan / cover letter that he intends to remain home for his full time job and only visit Canada occasionally.
2. Indicate he fully intends to move to Canada? But
my husband and his career in our home country are supposed to act as proof of home ties for the application. However, I fear stating he will move to Canada fully (while being my sponsor) can negatively affect the strength of the home ties in our application.

Would greatly appreciate getting advice on this, thanks everyone.

My application tracker updated on the 28th of February but everything still look them same on my application portal couldn't see what was updated, is this a ghost update? And what those it means?

To my own knowledge, it's preferable to apply alone and your husband to apply for a visit visa. Apply first, use your husband as home ties. As a sponsor, he shouldn't be your sponsor and your dependant as the same time.

Simple and straightforward. Apply together as a family application with your husband applying for visit visa. The fact you are the primary applicant applying for a study visa likely means decision on your hubby visit visa will be swift and possibly be treated along side your application.

1. Yes you can but it's highly dependent on your home and economic ties as well as your proof of funds.

Yes you can use those but it depends on how you portray the business and its worth to the VO

You can apply for school health insurance after study permit received and attach kids as dependents...and required fee will be added to tuition!!

Your living expenses/POF for you and the kids aside from tuition fees is up to 36 million naira

You actually need to show money at hand/bank for POF. Your properties are not easily convertible to cash so you can not say that is your POF. When building your , you must for big lodgements into the by explaining the source of the funds.

1. You can either apply together or apply alone, you will use your kids as home ties, and then when you get your approval you can apply for them.
2. Canada process is different you don't need that.
