SteveAjims: Oh I see, they asked for recent bank statements including the date of the first bank statement I presented (which was from October 1st to January 23rd) plus the one I first presented. Let me share a screenshot that will assist.

Osasuonaghinor: Good morning. I'd like to add that it's common for them to charge non refundable fees of around 50k in most cases. I'm sure some other people will agree to having paid a bit of fee also. |
SteveAjims: 12:00pm On Jan 29 |
JulieObungu: Thank you for your response. But from the email, it seems they only asked for the previous one you did before your application. |

SteveAjims: Hello Steve, Yes, which is what I sent including bank statements up till January 23rd. To be safe I sent from October 1st to January 23rd to show that POF is still there. This made the decision fast, by Tuesday I had the visa. I picked up the visa today and they approved it on Monday 27th 1 Like |

eichiebay: Keep the university updated, as this situation is beyond your control. I usually ask my applicants to continue ing them frequently with paid calls. They're intentionally causing this delay not to beat quota numbers. Once the latest enrollment deadline has ed, the university will withdraw the CAS, and the visa will be automatically denied. |

GoAbroad25: I find the bolded insulting but I'll assume you didn't understand what I wrote. So, I'll explain further. Some agents (not all) charge a bit of fee to help applicants. Presently, I'm using one for mine and I paid. Same thing my sis did last year. How did you reach the conclusion that I'm an agent and criminal? |

I wonder why UKVI changed from TLS to VFS. These VFS guys have put many people in dilemma. Inefficient customer service at its peak. Six weeks student visa application process period without any request for a ing document. The bigger shock was that UKVI confirmed that a decision has been made when called on 21st January. No word from VFS, no port, and school resumption deadline was 27th. This is heartbreaking. |

JulieObungu: Thank you so much for sharing this screenshot. Somebody recently came here to argue with me that UKVI can come to ask for another bank statement for any reason. No, they absolutely will not. The requirement is crystal clear, and the visa officer is repeating it. You must show that as at the date of application, you had the funds for at least 28 days. The end date of the statement must be WITHIN 31 days counting back from when you apply for your visa. This is very straightforward. Yes, sometimes they do ask for the origin of the funds, if in doubt. But they absolutely will not ask for, and will not accept or consider an statement outside these very clear rules. This is why I feel sorry for people spending money to renew POF for 2, 3 months because of visa processing delays. What a waste of money because UKVI will not ask to see, or even consider, any statement outside the stated period. 1 Like |

GoAbroad25: I do not think so! The UK has no quota numbers or caps for visas. Australia does, though. It's just bureaucracy, if you ask me. As at the time of writing, the UK doesn't use caps to regulate immigration flows. They regulate it by tightening or loosening eligibility criteria, depending on the needs of the economy and political climate at a given time. 3 Likes |

Iansunderland: Thanks for you input, chief. Just to be sure I understand you correctly, I'll go with this dumbed down example - Say, I've had the money in my for at least 28 days, then I make my visa application. You mean, I can take out some of the money for a major expense and that will not affect my visa decision, right? Thanks in advance. |

9wkgb: In the UK visa processing guidance for visa officers, they are clearly told that students may deplete some of the funds for additional payments towards their studies, including for outstanding tuition payments, accommodation, etc., which are all expected to be huge payments. The VO 100% expects you to eventually deplete some of the funds, esp when the processing is being prolonged and you have deadlines to make outstanding payments to your school. 2 Likes |
