I have heard many people say Lagos built their sea ports on their own without help from federal government.
My question is can a state build and operate a sea port without FG approval?

Why should a state waiting for FG approval to develop itself?

Who don’t you have your state try and see if your allocation for the next 40years don’t get held up. Lagos is the lifeblood of nigeria and it can get away with alot of things however if yours that relies on the federal allocation to clean your sewers dares such then you get to see what federalism is made off lol.

Lagos didn't build any seaport without the federal government's .
It got a massive from the federal government and mind you it is a PPP initiative. The Chinese, Lagos and federal government built the Lagos seaport.

Federal government spent no kobo on Lekki seaport.

A state can build her own seaport. Of course the federal government have to give it an approval to go ahead but that's all.

Rivers.. is fairing well but Ogun state will give Rivers a run for her money. Asides Port Harcourt, you'd hardly see fantastic structures on ground but H.E Wike is trying no doubt.

It's development we want.. South Easterners too should go and fix Anambra, Enugu, Imo and likes and stop claimung Lagos and Abuja as no man's land.

I’m in Nigeria and I know that we have functional seaports in Calabar, Warri, Port Harcourt and Onne. I’m also aware that FG has never denied any state approval for construction of seaport. Go and ask Lagos and Akwa Ibom governments.

How will a sane person compare abia with the likes of oyo state and ogun state.. Ogun state only has up to 50 tertiary institutions not to talk of companies which you can only compare to only likes of Lagos and oyo. Lagos, oyo and ogun only contribute up to 70% of the Nigeria total internal revenue without producing oil yet.
I can assure you life is even more easier and peaceful in their remaining landlocked states which is Osun and ekiti because they have everything they need nearby with a very small indigenous people's population because they also have lots of tertiary institutions.


Anyone who has traveled around will boldly conclude that SW is by far the most developed followed by SS as far as Nigeria is concerned. Grow up and stop deceiving yourselves

Lagos is the smallest State in Nigeria, Lagos is 50% slums, the areas modern structures are in serious threat by flood, its below the sea level, othe states in Southwest are nothing to write home about, you really need to travel from Asaba drive down to Anambra then you will know your region is empty, outside ports what's in Lagos, South-East and South-South blessed with natural resources that has been feeding this nation for years including Lagos
