The Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has faulted claims by the Chief Whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu, that he will All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, during the presidential election.

Ikpeazu, who is a member of the aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party G-5 governors, described the statement credited to Kalu as “wishful thinking”.

The lawmaker had during an interview with Channels Television on Monday said, “Tinubu is well-liked by the North and is from the South-West and is going to get a [sizeable] vote in Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, Anambra and Enugu. And he’s going to have the of Governor Wike of Rivers State, so we’re on track.

“My governor here, Okezie Ikpeazu, will also Tinubu. My senatorial district is going to give Tinubu the vote, the puncher to give the 34, 35 per cent to be on the ballot,” he said.

Debunking the claim while speaking after inspecting the ongoing final asphalt overlay on Faulks Road, Aba, Ikpeazu said that “no member of G5 can railroad another member into ing anyone against his will as suggested by Senator Kalu”.

Backing Ikpeazu, the Director of Strategic Engagement, Abia State PDP Campaign Council, Chief John Kalu, said the claims were just mere politics.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Governor Ikpeazu has not endorsed Tinubu and will not endorse him because he is a leader that is guided by the feelings of his people.

“PDP remains formidable and all our candidates in the forthcoming elections hold very strong prospects of winning, in Abia”
, he said.

Omo Wike is confused as we speak now

Rivers Youths are currently rioting now here in PH threatening Wike that they’ll pay him back by voting against his governorship candidate for endorsing Tinibu

Wike said they should bring a video of him endorsing Tinubu

Plz if you’re a Tinubu er here on Nairaland don’t ever make the mistake of going to PH to shout Tinubu they’ll kill u immediately

Neither here nor there. Confused set of people. All we want is a free and fair election. May the best candidate win.

G5 don scatter after wearing Aso ebi up and down. Wike obviously betrayed them by ing Tinubu. The wisest right now is Ortom, he has switched to the side of the masses by ing Obi. Anything outside this for any of the other governors is selfishness

Orji uzor Kalu is only backing Tinubu because of his selfish ambition. He knows that if Tinubu wins he would become Senate president. That's the only reason why he's fighting tooth and nail to ensure Tinubu wins. Kalu doesn't care about the common abia people.

This I have seen.
