Your analysis makes sense to me.
But I think we should look beyond Tinubu (in the event of a run-off).
The Buhari/Cabal factor is also a strong one.

By a rough guess, should Tinubu come third, he may likely route for Atiku (not even with the "God bless PD..." Jibber-jabber show).

Obi is quite popular, but he needs to sharpen his negotiation skills if a run-off occurs.

The way I look at it;
In the first round, sentiments would be a two-fanged thing - 2 southerners against 1 northerner (the North's scope) and, 2 Muslims against 1 Christian (the religious angle).

In the unlikely case that Christians queue overwhelmingly behind Obi, he may pull enough weight to become the contender at run-off.

If, Kwankwaso obliges to throw in the trowel in favor of Atiku, then Atiku may most likely be the candidate to beat.

There's also the location factor.
In the event of a run-off, the selected states where the run-off will be conducted will determine who eventually carries the day.

So, the 3-horse race is definitely going to throw up a different phenomena in the 2023 elections.
