Yea your grand dad was incarnated.. but by time as the boy grows up, he'll forget all the memories and live his normal life.. I've watched many episodes of reincarnation on Unsolved Mysteries channel.. when he's grownup he'll forget everything.

I gave you proof how memories are stored in our genes and how it manifest in form of response.
E.g throw a baby up, he will have this fear of height, even though they have no experience how devastating fear is and fear is gotten from experience.
