Please what could be causing this problem with my friend's Avalon 2005. Anytime he starts the engine, the radiator starts shooting out water in less than 1 minute. What are the possible fixes? Thanks in advance.

Mavor: Sign of a blown head gasket. Combustion gases finding it's way into the cooling system |
Mavor: 3:52pm On Apr 18 |
mayor2013:Actually not the case. I sent my mechanic to my friend and apparently it was a pressurization issue because there was air in the engine where water from the radiator was meant to be in. All sorted now. Thanks, 1 Like |

Mavor:Head gasket blown. Classic symptom. |
kingreign(m): 5:42pm On Apr 18 |
Mavor:You mean to say he bled the cooling system? Most Toyota of that era were designed with a self bleeding system. Water is drawn from the coolant reservoir bottle into the radiator to displace the air pocket trapped as the car is driven this is made possible by the radiator cap and the pressure it is designed to hold. I can assure you, that engine has a blown head gasket. |

Please who knows where I can buy the full hoses to connect this transmission cooler to the radiator? My car is a Honda Accord 2006 V6 (DC), and it uses a double-cell radiator.

Good day house, please i don't know exactly what is wrong with my car, Honda accord, the car just won't go past 3k rpm, we've changed the VTC solenoid, we've tested the VVT solenoid too, and it moves fine, we changed the Oil pump, we've done everything, yet that rocker arm stuck code is still on, and the car still won't go past 3k rpm, once it reaches there, it jerks very hard, gear selects fine, car moves fine, but doesn't go past that 3k rpm. I'm tired, any one can recommend a very qualified mechanic/workshop in Lagos who can sort this out? Thank you. |

Your car has entered limp mode. It wont exceed or even reach 3k rpm. Check the side walls of yojr engine. Your knock sensors are bad. Was there any job done to the transmission

100 percent sure. Its the knock sensor. Maybe bank 1 or bank 2. Also check yoir trans oil if its guaged while gear is on D and handbrake or legbrake on. But im 100% sure its from a bad knock sensor. Just youtube it. Bad knock sensor symptoms

Cutezt: Scan that car. |
vivalavida(m): 10:12pm On Apr 19 |
2cribz: You couldn't even suggest he scans that car and you are already sure what the problem is. Lmao |
Cutezt(m): 3:59am On Apr 20 |
kingreign: I have scanned it, I'll attach a screenshot of 2 scans I did. The first one is the one I did before all the repairs, the second one is the most recent one after some repairs. Right now, the car takes about a second before it accelerates when you step on the accelerator. I've just parked it until I am sure of a solution.

Cutezt(m): 4:01am On Apr 20 |
2cribz: Okay chief, I'll have it changed and see the result. Right now, it takes a second or two before it accelerates, I no longer drive it. |

Cutezt:1st advice Change mechanic 2nd advice get a professional 3rd a professional won't collect a million box 4th why this so many fault codes on your vehicle. Clear codes drive for about 4-5km and rescan and see which ones come back 1 Like |

mayor2013: The mechanic part is done already. I have told him he is clueless when I asked him if he knows the VVT solenoid and he didn't, when I showed him picture, he said that was not the name he knew it as, that it was called 'Raising', He also doesn't know the Knock sensor, I just told him he can't see me again. The problem is that its difficult to find a mechanic who knows his onions on the island here, I'll have to travel to the mainland, and I don't always have the time to go to the mainland as it usually takes the full day to repair and get back. The rocker arm code was the only one there before, I was driving about 2 weeks ago one Sunday when I just heard a sound, I opened the bonnet and saw a belt around the compressor area has cut, that was when all those codes came up. |

I have a Peugeot 206 (manual transmission). Normally it start and idle at 1000rpm. But recently it starts ad idle at 2000rpm (significantly higher than normal idle rpm). Sometimes it starts at normal rpm. What may be the cause of this irregularity?

kingreign(m): 7:50pm On Apr 20 |
Cutezt: Get a proper scanner that can scan the transmission also, scan the engine and transmission. |

Omo. Its either your injector mouth has malfunctioned or a fuse relating to injector mouth/knock sensor ,has malfunctioned or the brain box has sparked and burnt ..your car is on linp mode. Limp mode comes from a malfunction in gear performance or engine performance. Auch as shorting oil, hesiststion gbim loud force, gear oil contamination, shortage, leak,or generally your ecu is bad. Try to get another ecu and test,if after test same result. Alaye, your engine don sapa be that. Forget obd scanner. Obd scanner codes are limited and reappear afyer a few mileage.... in my own case in 2021,my evil spirit engine oil dried out completely and i was not aware ,as i was high most times. The gear rpm ddnt exceed 2900rpm till i changed the knock sensors,we did every, brought gear down, serviced changed fibre, clutch, etc still problem wasn't solved. Till knock sensors were the culprit i sold it after a month.of cos i fixed the erros and changed the sensors but i didnt want honda any longer. Honda fumbled..

Greetings everyone, My Toyota Camry 08 is making some noise on cold start but the noise vanishes after the engine gets hot. Two mechanics I've ed both said is the timing chain. But one said it needs adjustment while the other said it needs replacement. Kindly advice what to do. Thank you all |
olumayoor: 1:55am On Apr 22 |
2cribz: I already bought the transmission cooler from Temu, it's the one I was holding in the picture. The AN10 hose I ordered for my oil cooler lines came in today, and they seem to be a good fit for it, so I'll repurpose the AN10 hose while I order a replacement. |
