firstly, there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with ASUU fighting for their rights....even if it is financial. Secondly, even in the UK, which you mentioned, universities also go on strike! Thirdly, without serious financial commitments, no meaningful research can be carried out by lecturers. Research is very expensive. In successful universities in developed countries, a lot of money, in the form of grants, goes to lecturers for research. In conclusion, more of the blame should rightly be apportioned to FG who went into serial agreements with ASUU even when they knew they had NO intentions of fulfilling them!
