lonelygem:Thanks for this explanation but there’s something I want to understand. Does the tank for storage of Kerosene have to have been used for storing PMS for 6 years ![]() ![]() And if importers import just once or twice a year, how do airline operators manage? 4 Likes |

Nigerian government doesn't subsidize kerosene. Plus the price of petroleum products at filling stations is determined by international price of crude oil. The higher the price of crude the more you will pay for not just kerosene but diesel. Government still heavily subsidizes petrol that's why the price has been relatively lower compared to other petroleum products. Adiob200: 7 Likes 1 Share |

Adiob200:i feel its the cost of producing both. when the crude is chanelled to the refinery, petrol is gotten first and kerosene will be a much later time. making the cost of producing kerosene much more expensive and time consuming that petrol |

Adiob200: Kerosene is not subsidized. PMS (petrol) is. That is all |

lonelygem: Long story! There is no subsidy on Kerosine since GEJ era: More reason it 'appears' way more expensive than petrol (according to the question asked by op) and NOT because of production cost or whatever epistle you are writing up there. 12 Likes 1 Share |

Because more people uses kerosene than petrol. And the government we have in town are only ready to inflict pains than otherwise |
justmondris: 12:23pm On Aug 05, 2022 |
The question is why are you still using Kerosene in 2022 for cooking even when it’s still very expensive. Please Google about JIKOKOA QUALITY MODERN CHARCOAL STOVE. It’s smokeless and you can use it even in a modern kitchen. It’s only requires a very small amount of charcoal, it’s very fast in cooking and it doesn’t stain the kitchen. You can order it on most e-commerce websites in Nigeria e.g Jumia. |

What is inverse about the analysis? Or do you lack a basic understanding of the forces of demand and supply?

|

Because we are importing it at the price white men say we should buy it. Because we refused to refine our own crude oil for ourselves. 1 Like |

This was the same question I asked the kerosene attendant at the filling station last month when I bought 7 litres of kerosene for six thousand naira . It's so pathetic. |
