So, there is this asset declaration form you fill and update every four years when working for either the federal, state or local government. You fill all your assets and liabilities of yourself and your spouse. So you cannot be worth say 5 million some years ago and then suddenly have over 500 million in your bank within a few years.

My guess is the money belongs to her son who is probably outside the country
