My wife would tell me that we would have separate rooms when we got bigger apartment, that was when we were using single living and bed rooms. When we got apartment with three bedrooms, I simply told her that she and I die together, no separate rooms. Now, we have one room unoccupied.

I also thought of this too recently. There is no way I could share a room with my husband. We can share the same bed (it can be his or mine) but not the same space. Except the room is extremely large.

The best way to handle such partner(s) is to apply Netwon's third law of motion without blinking.

In most marriages/relationships, it pays to be nice but don't you ever appear emotionally WEAK before your spouse. One wouldn't know his reason for such decision but most lovers are very mischievous, they explore your weakness and mess you up.

There's nothing wrong with a man asking for a separate room. Maybe he needs time to think. I really love the idea of staying in a separate when I get married. One shouldn't loose his/her individuality cos of marriage.

Seriously when I was growing up back then, thought the house we live in is a rented house.my dad sleep in different room.

Living in the same room with your wife is good and sweet if you both understand each other, but if one decides to choose a separate room, I don’t see that as a problem if the other person wants space. You both can still spend all day together but sleeps in different rooms at night.

Personally I’ll always sleep with my wife in the same room and same bed
