JAMB UTME 2022 Discussion & Questions Thread (13766 Views)

JAMB has adopted 66019 as an additional and optional USSD code besides the 55019 code that had been in operation since 2018 for UTME/DE registration and other essential services offered by the Board. The 55019 and 66019 are to be used to create their profiles for registration by candidates sitting the 2022/23 UTME/DE. As usual, candidates are required to send their National Identification Number(NIN) via either of these USSD codes for their details to be pulled from the NIMC database before they proceed to any accredited centre for biometric capturing. |

In its bid to leverage the digital competence of its increasing number of computer- savvy candidates, the t issions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is introducing self-registration outlets in Abuja and Lagos. According to JAMB, the system would, in the long run, reduce the crowds at CBT centres in these cities. The conception of this noble idea is to, besides advancing the digital competence of candidates who feel they can do the registration on their own, expand the registration access points in line with COVID- 19 protocols.

Easy Steps to Gain ission There is an adage that says “A school of thought believes ‘it doesn’t matter what you study, just get a good grade and jobs will find you out’. I that theory, many of our students always go for Professional courses than Career Courses which in the end they are been deny ission. I know that you will be asking if there is an easy step of gaining ission, to be real with you, there are no easy ways of getting ission into Nigeria Universities. We have really made research and ask some Scholars about the easy ways of gaining ission which we have put down here. Thanks to them. I will make it short by summarizing everything that can help you gain ission by not letting a year you by, check it out and know what to do. - Apply for Courses that are less competitive - Apply to Universities that are easy to gain ission - Have two courses in mind such as Professional Courses or Career Courses for supplementary purposes - Always Know the Calculation of Your Universities aggregate ission Points Just because you ed the Jamb cut-off mark threshold of 160/180/200 (depending on school) doesn’t mean your ission is secured. That is why you need to prepare for JAMB very well. The truth is that when you Jamb, you are telling the university you apply for that you are ready for them and you have booked tickets for the university. I am going to review to you a little statistics of last year Jamb below:

What should I do after writing Jamb? If your jamb score is good then congratulation to you because crossing over jamb universities cut off mark is not as easy as you think. The mistakes many students make is that they think that if they should blast their jamb mark everything is set for them, ission must be given to them so they feel relax to study for post Utme. After Jamb what you need is to prepare for the university Post Utme or Screening. What should I do after my post Utme or Screening? Post-UTME / Screening is the major issues all students should look at and work towards it, don’t relax, whether you ed your JAMB excellently or not. This is one of the reasons why candidates don’t gain ission with scores above 250 in JAMB. If you think you blast jamb by scoring 280 or 290 and your post utme is not up to the University post utme cut off mark, seriously you will be denied ission. What you have to know is that Post Utme is made up of two ways which are; 1. By an aptitude test i.e (Exam) 2. By Screening of credentials i.e ( your waec and Jamb result) So kindly take your post utme more serious than your Jamb exam, University award ission to students that merit there fixed cut mark. What you have to do after writing your post utme or screening is to try and your waec result in the JAMB PORTAL so that the university you choose can easily see your waec result if is fake or original, this is what many students don’t know sometimes your jamb scores or post utme score might be good and yet you are still denied of ission reason is that your waec result is not ed. |

Below are some mistakes you should never make as a Student of a University/Polytechnic in Nigeria: 1. NEVER wait till your year 4 or 3 before going for your IT/internship, use every holiday to learn something new and interesting, be it in your field or outside of it. 2. NEVER graduate knowing only things pertaining to your degree, if you do, you will limit yourself. Expand your horizon, know something about everything there is to know. 3. NEVER read for grades, grades won’t carry you beyond school. Read for knowledge, read to be empowered. 4. NEVER separate yourself from others, Make friends with all sort of people, Regardless of faith, creed, colour and knowledge. 5. NEVER allow a lecturer limit you or your ability. He is where he probably wants to be..you are not yet where you want to be..don’t allow him limit you by his words, grades or outburst. 6. NEVER look down on grades, read to have the A’s, do your best to be among the best. If C is what you can achieve with all your strength achieve it. 7. NEVER substitute religious activity for real relationship with God, participate in fellowship activities but never let it replace your personal interaction with God. Don’t be a zealot or an extremist. 8. NEVER look down on anyone, the poor guy then could be a millionaire after school, the guy who struggled to make third class might come back powerful and rich. No other person has been more recognised in my set (internationally and within Nigeria) than my good friend Olalekan despite graduating with a weak 2:2…No be by what you graduate with o. 9. NEVER take your CGPA or graduating class as the final say on your life. Why should a cream-coloured A4 paper, signed by a Professor, produced by NSMC be a final authority on your life? 10. NEVER think people are going to treat you specially just because you are graduating with a good grade. The world out there is full of people MORE qualified than you. Work out your “salvation”. What saves you is what you can do. 11. NEVER depart from God or godly principle, your life depends on him. In dominus El frustra…Latin..loosely meaning (Without God we labour in vain). You need God on your best days and on your worst days. Never look down on the power of favour or grace 12. NEVER NEVER NEVER GIVE UP! TELL YOUR SELF WE THRIVE NOT DIE HERE. 1 Like |

If you are an undergraduate ission seeker, you are advised to carefully read this post and follow the below recommendations to increase your chances of gaining ission into the University you desire: 1. Complete/Right O’level results: JAMB has made it clear last year that henceforth, no candidates will be itted with incomplete O’level results. A candidate that does not have the complete O’level results for his or her chosen course of study is not qualified for ission. This does not mean that candidates that are are still waiting for the release of their O’level results cannot be considered for ission. However, such candidates are to ensure they their complete O’level results before ission commences or immediately after the results are released. As a matter of fact, all candidates should confirm their O’level results are available on JAMB CAPS. Without this, no ission for you. 2. Have a Correct JAMB UTME-Subject Combination: Just the same way an incomplete/wrong O’level results can disqualify you for ission, the same way a wrong UTME subject combination can equally disqualify. UTME Subject combination is the combination of subjects related to your intended course of study that you are expected to take during the JAMB examination. Candidates are expected to go through the JAMB Brochure to know the exact UTME subject combination for their chosen course of study. 3. Apply to a School That Your State of Origin Is Within Its Catchment Area: Each Federal University has its own catchment areas. These catchment areas are states connected to that particular federal university. If your state of origin is recognized as part of the catchment area of the federal university you applied to study, you will stand a better chance of securing ission into that university than someone else whose state of origin is not recognized as part of the university’s catchment area. 35% of the available spaces are reserved for candidates whose state of origin falls within the catchment area of the federal university of their choice. So it is advisable to apply for ission to an institution that has your state of origin as part of its catchment area. 4. A High JAMB Score Though a high JAMB score does not automatically mean that you will gain ission, a high JAMB score will help boost your chances of securing ission especially if your intended course of study is a competitive course like Medicine, Law, etc. This is why you should study well for the examination. Have you attempted our JAMB Past Questions and Answers Online Quiz? They were all compiled specially to help candidates adequately prepare for the forthcoming JAMB exam as it contains all you need to excel. 5. A Good Post-UTME Score: A high Post JAMB score equally gives a candidate a high chance of gaining ission. A good JAMB score alone is not enough. You equally need a good Post-UTME score. That will give you a better chance of securing ission. Have you gotten the Post-UTME past questions and answers for your school of choice? If not, get it now so you can prepare adequately for the aptitude test. |
