There was a certain police doctor from my town. Even though he wasn’t the typical olopa you’d see at checkpoints, he was still paranoid about his involvement with the NPF. Not a lot of people knew he was a police man and this was more than 20 years.

In the next 10-20 years from now, we’d be wondering why northerners are the majority in the police force.

No motivation that is why the southern states don't want to get involved.The standard of life of a police officer is not encouraging.In the south we want to leave a comfortable life even though you are not rich.A police officer of 15years in service cannot go home with salary of 70_75 and he is married with wife and children.No insurance incase of casualties,no good working environment,no standard accomodation,no hospital for officers,no transportation,no transfer allowance,etc.I don't want to talk about the risk involved.So why will someone who doesn't want to remain poor wants to the police organization except those with corrupt mind as civilian.

In South East for instance, Imo State has the highest unemployment rate according to NBS stats. Now you can see that Imo State has the highest number of applications in the SE.

This is bad news for the North and I urge their States of origin to keep an eye on their indigenes ing the police and keep a for them to monitor their progress while in service.

Most Northerners who ed the rank and file of the military and paramilitary forces who later retired after 30 years are serious social liabilities today because most of them have no skill to retire to after retirement and most even later developed PTSD and poor mental health with no adequate professional for them.

I plead with their States of origin to keep an eye on every one of their indigenes in these security agencies. Please I beg. Organise mandatory and continuous entrepreneurial and co-ed skill training programmes for them evenwhile they are in service. Have a board monitoring their progress and audit their human resource value progression. Don't abandon them to these agencies.

Even the Southerners that applied are still not sure of being recruited.

A friend from the South once said it is usually difficult for big bosses (in the South) who are in the Force to sign recommendations for interested applicants. And the reverse is the case in the North

There will always be exceptions to a general trend.

However I did not rule out other factors,but generally population is a major factor which is also applicable to rate of unemployment.

Northerners enjoy Nigeria more. The overwhelm anything the federal offers.
