Please does anyone have an idea on how to get loans in Nigeria to balance funds?
I'm not talking about POF, but actual money that one can get to use and repay with interest.

The loan companies profile the class of people they fund, they also work with mostly Ivy league schools.

Whether she gets the loan or not, has payback plans or not -- has nothing to do with me . I'm just highlighting the fact that it's not public funds

@Dafa thank you so much for your clarifications on the loan. I know what I mean when I say people get loans. @solatium, you just don't understand me. Am still trying to apply for my Visa, my school (CRANFIELD UNIVERSITY) has approved lend wise as one of their loan bodies and these people give to international students if they can provide their credit report. So I need loan for school fees and maintenance fees .

I will return back to This plaform with testimony if am successful. Am applying with 3 dependents ( husband and two kids)

Google the penalty that Befalls those who leave without paying. It's even on the ukvi website

Your "No credit report recorded" resulted from you not taking a loan in the past, Lendwise will ask for some additional documents, which you will on your dashboard and then they will determine how much loan & APR you will be given.

Not to worry about the credit report, some peeps that I know still got loans with no credit report.

You guys don't get it or will I say you guys did not understand this guys question. He has not applied for any student visa neither has he presented POF to UK for student visa. He wants to study but he does not have to foot his bills and pay his fees. He needs to borrow enough money for both his tuition fees and living expense (POF) in order to enable him pursue his dreams of studying in the UK. He can actually borrow this money from anywhere in the world but he wants to borrow it from UK and they are requesting for his credit report score. There is nothing wrong in what he wants to do. People do borrow money for study purposes and they pay back when they graduate and start working. This is easier for UK citizens but he is not a UK citizen. He heard that some people that are non citizens of UK has succeeded in borrowing money and financing their studies, so he wants to give it a shot. Please, let us not crucify him.

The loans is to act as POF. so u apply for it before you come in if u need it for your visa application

Hey,your 20hrs a week can only sustain your personal living, don't make mistake that you can work full hour's óò.
i just hope you don't base your repayment plan on that 20hrs

Yes, it matters. The TB test lasts 6 months, so if he’s not traveling with you and it expires before he applies for visa, then it’s a waste of time and money.

So if one is already in the UK, it then means you have ticked all the boxes of finances and funding of the program.

I think you can only call mummy, daddy, wife, husband, brother, sister friends, or colleagues if you don hang. lollll

The repayment plan starts after graduation when the person has gotten an employment, so I will not start paying until after school and I believe I will get full job immediately after graduation. It's a 10yrs repayment but can be paid off at once if the person has the money.

As someone who benefited a lot from this platform, I’d like to state some things that might be useful for those applying now.
1. It is possible to do all your applications without using agents. Make this platform and google your friend, also try to read the thread from the beginning and ask questions.
2. Before making a choice on where to study, ask relevant questions. (Consider your budget, course, location, payment plan flexibility, job prospects etc).
3. Start your application on time to avoid last minute rush and constantly keep in touch with the school via emails and phone calls. If you send emails and don’t get a quick response, drop a voicemail on the phone number provided by the school.
4. Connect with the school on their official social media pages. This will help you send a DMs if they get too busy in respond to emails. Also connect with others that are applying to the same school to share ideas.
5. Try to secure your ission early and get your CAS so you can apply for your visa quickly.
6. If you have the funds, pay a large percentage of your tuition and don’t be so eager to jump at 1k and 2k deposits. Some students are getting stranded because of this.
7. If for any reason you can’t pay a large chunk of your tuition before traveling, have a concrete plan to come up with the remaining fees. These schools can frustrate you if you don’t pay up your fees.
8. Paying only 1k or 2k deposit out of 12-13k tuition with the hope of paying the remaining part when you get here is unrealistic & sometimes not very possible. Unless you have a sponsor, saved up enough money or going with your spouse that can work full time to you, think twice about it.
9. While you’re planning to japa via school, to sharpen your mind for the actual school work. I’m saying this because people actually fail their masters and are unable to get their post study permit.
10. Look for intelligent people in you class and be friendly with them so you can rub minds with them. a study group if possible because studying in the UK is a totally different ballgame & I wish someone had counseled me before I arrived. It can be interesting but be ready to put in the work.
11. Make friends with resourceful people when you get here and find accommodation on time. Possibly sort out accommodation before leaving Nigeria especially if you’re coming in with children.
12. Don’t be discouraged to apply because you have been denied visa/visas before. Just be honest about it.
