His Excellency Ebele Goodluck Jonathan Former President of Nigeria canvassed for a 6 years eleection cycle with single tenure, sometime ago but jittery folks misrepresented its intention.

However if you observe the polity very well today you will find out that the 4 year elections cycle is a waste of resources and a distraction for development

I am still yet to understand why Nigerians are shifting all their energies on presidency.

Please how about our good for nothing senators and house of reps , even if the president is clueless, a sound house should be able to put things in other.

The 4 years term is still in order as reelection is not automatic

the desire for reelection make politicians get distracted from focusing on core governance matters and delivering people oriented projects instead of trying to please political godfathers

When the president is incompetent, his incompetence paralyses every other thing around him.

But both Senate and House of reps are independent same as judiciary.

Or?

six years will be very bad for Nigeria.

Most politicians like Amaechi and seriake Dickson tries to be on the good book in their first tenure and later show their people pepper in second tenure.
If u do am 6yrs, some people will loot throughout the six years, the idea of next 4years nai deh keep them from overlooking the first tenure
