Please, my fellow bloggers and digital marketers, I have a serious question to ask because I am very angry right now.

One of my partners sent a little dollar to my through wire transfer on the 23rd of this month, on getting to my I saw that $25 dollar was deducted from the money.

I ed the sender and he told me that they send the exact amount which they also sent me the receipt, now I had to my bank (GTB) and they said that it's offshore charges and that it's a new law from CBN.

Please I am still confused right now, why will CBN issue such a law?

Please share your experience if you have ever experienced something like that before because it also means that Google Adsense payment might be deducted too

Gtb is all shades of useless and lootery.

I use union Bank and i don't get debited like this for charges. Even though AdSense payment comes in it regularly.

I thought the sender always pays the fee for an international transfer.

There is always offshore charge for wire transfers.

Usually, the sender bears the charge. I'm guessing this particular sender opted that the "beneficiary bears offshore charge", thus you were charged.

It has always been 25usd.
Next time, ask questions or you use Western Union to receive your money

Let me educate you a little. There is something called offshore charge when doing a wire transfer. When i do a wire transfer from Nigeria, i pay the offshore charge so that the receiver will get the same amount expected. I cam equally request that the receiver be billed the offshore charges. The same happens when doing a wire transfer from abroad. In your case, the sender ticked the checkbox that the offshore charge should be paid by you. Simple and short. As for the Adsense guy, check your payment history, you will see that you are paying full charge for the wire transfer from your adsense .

Most Nigerian Banks are Rippers....though they (GTB) have a fast transaction process....

Try upgrade or talk to your officer for a much less tax induced if you must keep using the said for your transactions!
Howbeit you can open a gateway serviced s for ZERO FEE charges on foreign currency transactions.
