Facebook reserves a right to protect their business. As much as they letter has made reference to a law which seeks to protect them, there are also laws against monopoly such as the competition laws which might provide a leeway for u. U should consult an intellectual property lawyer for advise. U can’t be seriously looking for advice from people on social media. This is quite serious as they intend to deprive u of ur earnings and also covertly steal ur intellectual property (which is ur App)

This is probably to scare you. Or intimidate you. If your platform is big enough and valuable and to an extent you're not crossing boundaries (eg GB WhatsApp and savefrom ing YouTube videos), you probably would need to get a lawyer to interpret these law jargons to you.

He should stand his ground in another man's business that he's provided free of charge; irrespective of the clearly spelt out of use and the warnings. Like seriously did you write that? Someone comes into your house and and wants to access your kitchen or bedroom. Then you complain and someone encourages him to get a lawyer with the opinion he will win and have you compensate him.
Pray that someone an who is ambitious doesn't see what you just wrote. The person might make it a point of duty and throw the full weight of the law against the tortious act and make him pay through his nose if not land him in jail.

It's not a big deal. I received a similar letter in 2009 when I was tricking Adsense-for-domain but, it's not as detailed as this. They banned the and the domains from their end not asking me to stop it.

They just want you to stop the activity that went against their policies. You can reply that you don't know your activities are against their policies. They won't go far more than that cos they have bigger fish to fry. They won't report you to their law enforcement. Trust me, this is not a standard litigation letter, it's just a warning letter to scare you. Just for future sake try to dissociate yourself with those Gmail s. Maybe you want to apply for a VISA in the American embassy, you shouldn't use this email. Just dissociate yourself totally from the email.

Thinking From another angle, ask yourself the fllg questions;
- Why can't they stop the app by themselves if truly you've gone against their rules?
- Why do they need your source code when they have gurus that can reverse engineer?

I'm thinking about those two questions cos I'm not very sure if you went against any rule. If you truly did, they shouldn't need you to stop the app. If they are still studying the behavior of your app, they wouldn't ask you to disable it. Scraping has been an age-old debate in the cyber world. 40% of internet traffic are bots/crawlers scraping. Scraping is legal but social media companies hate it with ion. Linkedln vs hiQ case. Maybe you didn't even go against any rule in the first place but you just beat them at their game.

If you have their time, send them a counter litigation format from your 'lawyer' that you've not done anything wrong. Read more about web scraping laws online and use some English jargon in the letter. Send them a letter from Agbabiaka and Associates. Just a format or you can send it from a real law firm.

Create your own app that can rival them. They send millions of that to most developers with threat. Do your own thing. You are good and got the developer skills.
Lastly, never give any code to them. That is your brain and work. They either pay for such.

Bro I suggest you stop whatever you're doing with them.

For sending them your source code etc, tell them you are really sorry and never intend to violate their but for your software source code is not for free if they want it so bad that you're open to offer (pay) so they should bring in their offers

I will strongly advice you to respond to the demands of FB/IG magnt as requested for in the letter.

How ever, where it was stated that you should provide the methods used in achieving your aim on their social media platform, I think you should categoricall tell the group that, it is not possible. Except they are ready to pay-off for it.

Brother, whatever you might have done is your brain, your sweat/effort. It can not be given out pro-bono. Let FB go to hell, all you care.

Just make sure that you flag down whatever programme you might done through their media and communicate the same to them but don't allow their threat to get into you.

If those app r ur creation , they ve no right to it . Just stop what ever u r doing on all their domains, when they don't notice any activity from u again them go forget u. Or u can see a good lawyer for advice , but mind u d lawyer fit wan push u into something dat il cause wahala for u so he can make money from u.

Please don't give in to fear. Seeing that they noticed your work makes u are big fish and they might be preparing to bring you in to their term.

We have seen Gbwhatsapp, WhatsApp saver, fastsaver,(that saves Instagram and Facebook) images. Why havent they been forced to stop.

Correct! Immediately I saw all the details he was asked to provide, I knew it wasn’t Facebook but a scamming ring. While I can’t put my money on it, it’s most likely the case.
