It was done by the British. They used elephants yo represent most of their interests in West Africa.

I see some people complaining about the state of origin of the commissioners.

It reminds me of the old saying that people will always complain.


Once upon a time police commissioners and military governors all served in their states of origin. Then Nigerians complained that they were biased and that they usually favoured their friends and relatives. They wanted neutral people.

Therefore it was decided that no military governor would serve in his state of origin, while the police would be a mix of indigenes and people from other states.

Now people are complaining of the exact opposite, but people will still complain if you restore the previous system.
