I haven’t mailed any economics professors. But I mailed some others, and they said the the GA decisions are made closer to the beginning of the semester. I think I’ll start mailing economics professors. Thank you for the idea.

Funding comes separately, it doesn't come with ission. You apply for assistanceship only when you have been offered ission. But the ission did came with a 4,000usd scholarship for international commitment. Still waiting on the department to make decisions on funding.

Good morning everyone. I have come to give thanks to God again!!!!! He deserves all the praise.

I helped my friend apply for a January ission on the 5th of October 2020 and her BVL and PPR just came in this morning at 10:41am and 10 43am.
I cannot begin to say the kind of emotions this application has raised in our hearts. We waited, we wrote, we did all things expected till we just resigned into God's hands.

She even started online classes thinking it would come very soon - for where? She went through so much stress!!! Oh!!!

I just burst into tears when I opened the mail; the waiting was not in vain!

Her timeline is as follows:
Submission - 5th October 2020
Biometrics - 16th October 2020
NSE Request Letter - 19th November 2020 Upfront Medical ed - 2nd December 2020
BVL & PPR - 22nd April 2021

She did not meet up with the NSE Request but when it was taking too long, I just went ahead to submit an expired underscored IELTS of hers in March 2021. I wrote scores and scores of letters, so many webforms - I lost count!

October Applicants, get ready, it's raining PPR!!! Your tears are being wiped away!!!

I will post the documents I submitted for her in a while.

Good day to all the gurus in the house. I have been following and reading this tread and some of the previous ones for a while now. I want to apply for masters in US.
I observed that the only discussion here starts from interview, going through transcripts and any other payment after being given ission(if I am right).
I graduated with 2:1 ing. Should I write GRE or GMAT. Also, I don't know if there is a tread for those seeking ission. Where we can see samples of LOI(letter of Intent), SOP and the likes.
I will really appreciate ur responses.

Hi, guys. I checked my sevis payment status, and I realized it still shows paid. I made payment in 2019. I'm confused if the payment is still valid. Photo attached.

You have three options here:

1) if the new I-20 is from the same school as the old I-20, email your ISSS office and have them reissue your I-20 with the old SEVIS ID. Most schools email I-20s now due to the pandemic and it shouldn't take more than a week to correct this.

2) the SEVIS ID on your visa profile does not really matter, what matters is that the SEVIS ID listed on your DS160 matches the SEVIS ID on your I-20 taken to the embassy. I've seen people book visa dates in advance before their I20 was out using random SEVIS ID but used their actual SEVIS ID on their DS160 and got their visas.

3) transfer the SEVIS fee payment from the old SEVIS ID to the new SEVIS ID via www.fmjfee.com.
