The Lagos State Government has raised alarm over sales of fake COVID-19 test results in the state, warning that processes are being put in place to clamp down on both buyers and sellers.

“It has come to our attention that a number of people are patronizing individuals that sell fake COVID-19 results. We are currently putting in processes to identify both buyers and sellers and we will not hesitate to prosecute either to the full extent of the law.”

Frowning on non-compliance on the part of inbound travellers, he said a significant number of the people who ed on the Lagos State COVID-19 portal for post-arrival test have been tested while there are a number of people who paid for the test, but did not show up for testing.

“Efforts are being made through our logistics arm to reach this group of people. These attempts have been met with challenges as several people used fake information while ing on the testing portal.”

Stating that for the sake and safety of the general public, such people should come for testing immediately, he threatened to submit their details to the Presidential Task Force for deactivation of their ports.

Money is the root of every evil

Even the COVID-19 tests being done for those who are travelling, is available for N30k instead of the N50k fee.

No test done at all, yet a certified result is issued to the traveller.

Imagine Nigerians banking on our health workers to do their duty diligently, yet they are ready to monetize a test result.

I reckon those who would even want to abide by the law and a good conscience, can be deliberately issued a positive result as punishment for daring to be forthright.

We are a rotten and irredeemably corrupt society.

I am not secret service, yet many hear these stories, which begs the question, do we have a secret service doing their job in this country?

But why are Nigerian workers so useless and unpatriotic, yet they blame government as though we do not all individual sum up as the useless government?
