Without the bribe we cannot live

Its what keeps up from perishing

It gives us food and pays the rent

Without it we'd always be in lent



Our kids would not be off to school

And when sick we would just drool

With bare feet we would walk around

There'd be no mirth in our compound



As the state pays us a pittance

We look elsewhere for deliverence

Be we police of government staff

We need handouts to at least laugh



Civil servants live like beggars

Law agents pay is just a laugh

Our leaders live the life of bliss

Legislators pay themselves big



Because our pains are not their own

They leave us with our woes alone

Where would we be without the bribe

For we have nowehere else to hide



Fighting corruption is deal

But our hunger is more real

When we can afford to live well

Bribery will wither away to hell
