Protesters against police brutality, extra-judicial killing, and extortion have blocked Iwo road in Ibadan on Tuesday morning, causing gridlock.

The PUNCH gathered that the protesters arrived at the road a few minutes to 09 am.

According to a commuter, many travellers are stranded and held in traffic.

One of the protesters, identified simply as Akande, said, “It is our right to protest. We apologise to those affected by the gridlock, but we expect that they should be part of us. They are also exploited by policemen while travelling.”

Nigerians on Tuesday continued their protests to pressure the Federal Government to follow through on disbanding the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

The Inspector General of Police, Adamu Muhammed, had on Sunday announced the dissolution of the FSARS in after widespread protest.

The protesters blocked highways in Lagos on Monday, demanding that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), addresses them.

Buhari on Monday insisted that “disbanding of SARS is only the first step in our commitment to extensive police reforms”.

“The purpose of law enforcement and the purpose of policing is for the safety of lives and livelihood of Nigerians,” he said.

But protesters vowed to keep up the pressure, saying previous pledges to disband the unit and punish officers responsible for abuses were not honoured.

una no go see wetin hit una!

deepwater:
My dear friend, i am sorry about your experience.
But honestly the govt doesn't give a Bleep about you or your ordeals with sars.
You are still alive, you are lucky.
Many young men were killed innocently as the python danced.
What was your reaction? You didnt give up on Nigerian then, because it did not concern you right grin
Last week i witnessed the brutal beating of a man and his wife by a 2 Nigerian soldiers, just because the man said 'oga comot for road' so his bike wont hit him, he lost some blood for daring to tell a WHOLE Nigerian soldier to leave the road.

Like i said earlier,e go reach everybody one, by one.
Una no go see wetin go hit una!!!
In other parlance, you won't see it coming undecided
Keep cheering evil, a beast has no owner, it bites as the evil spirit leads

We gave up on this country before we were born, still can not believe how we got here in the 1st place.

Protesters: End SARS
Police authorities: SARS has been ended

Protesters: that's not enough, reform the police, ensure justice for victims of police brutality.
Government: Police reform will kick-start, investigation into cases of police brutality commenced, those found culpable will face the wrath of the law.

Protesters: thats not enough, an official of jamb said snake swallowed money, fghjbxbjxkdkdkdm.

Me: let's not be cowardly, if we want to protest against the govt, the general mismanagement of the country, let's say so, and march to occupy the seats of power. Sit out at government house and present proper demands like reduction of fuel price, electricity tarries, etc. We know where Tinubu lives, let's occupy Bourdillon. Not turning against our own selves, harassing ordinary struggling people we perceive as "rich" while the politicians are untouched.

Say it, do not be afraid.. We either restructure or secede. Our massive unity should avoid tribalism and religious intolerance..
