I have been a nairalander for years but this is my first post.
My name is Michael Ameh; a poultry farmer in Ado odo local government area of Ogun state.
Yesterday, a giant crocodile was caught just behind the farm and I felt I should share it on the forum.
I’ll be grateful if this post makes front page

Do you know that....

1. Crocodile are the biggest reptiles on Earth.

2. There are about 23 different species of crocodile that live on the planet earth.

3. Ever heard of crocodile tears?... Yes, they have glands that can produce tears.

4. Crocodile actually don't chew their food.

5. They carry their hatching in their mouth.

Now you know.

If u found this behind your farm like u said this is a friendly reminder that u should not lose guard there... There should be about 3-6 more of the baby croc around and then the adults.

That little thing will take u down if u dare slip in front of it.

You need to be careful around your farm environment. There might be more around and if you have kids over there always keep them indoors

At least it is a crocodile and not a snake today.... lalasticlala thank you oooo, for the variety of reptile news you have for us on frontpage today.

Before i ed Nairaland i used to hate snakes but due to Lala's constant bombardment of the frontpage with snake posts, i can say i am now completely neutral to snakes.....thank you lala.

PS: on a lighter note if lala becomes Nigeria's president we will be exporting snakes to other countries grin grin grin

ok

Thou a baby croc, I salute your bravery catching it alive.( how did you do it?)
I would have just chased it back into the woods.
Please don't let it end in the pots
Try and any zoo or sell it off to private keepers of reptiles.

On a larger scale, if you have the land mass , it's a start of a zoo.

It's time private sectors take over Zoos and the tourist sector in this country. The public sector has proven to always end up in the drain.
Hopefully, the nation will metamorphose from being seen as a zoo by it's citizens one day.
