Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu today, visited site of the helicopter crash at Opebi for an on-the-spot to sympathize with the families of the victims.

Sanwo-Olu said he met with the residents of the buildings, thanked God for his abiding grace.

He orded an immediate integrity test conduct on both of the affected buildings to know the level of impact, and plegde to renovate them and provide all the necessary to cushion the effects of this tragic incident .

In his words:

I was at the site of the helicopter crash at Opebi for an on-the-spot assessment. We sincerely sympathize with the families of the victims. I met with the residents of the buildings and we all thanked God for his abiding grace.


I have ordered an immediate integrity test conduct on both of the affected buildings to know the level of impact. We are taking on the responsibility of renovations and will provide all the necessary to cushion the effects of this tragic incident .

Better don't go and promise and fail. Nobody asked you to promise to renovate buildings. It's not Lagos State's business. The damages should be incurred by the company that owns the helicopter.

Renovating a few buildings shouldn't be their problem. Oga, focus on Third Mainland Bridge and the light rail construction, Sir.

Good thing but, not the most efficient decision imho. We as a people are too sentimental and never objective.

This is why I think it's too dangerous for us to govern ourselves. We tend to spend erroneously for goodness sakes. This is a typical black man thinking with his heart instead of his mind. Stupidity at worst indeed.

On whose whose would the expense be charged, abeg? Don't the Copter owners have Insurance on it to bear the cost?

Why do the citizens of Lagos have to pay for it? This is Opebi for goodness sake. The property owners and inhabitants of that neighborhood have enough to either bear the loss or seek retribution from the Copter owners.

That money should be spent on building shelter to the less privileged NOT those that can and should seek reimbursement from the necessary agencies.
