Umahi Disagrees With NASS On Sack Of Service Chiefs by Nobody: 10:46pm On Aug 07, 2020
The Ebonyi State Governor Chief David Umahi has faulted the call by the National Assembly for the sack of service Chiefs and advocated for more funding, provision of adequate logistics and regular meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Governor Umahi made the disclosure in Abakaliki during groundbreaking ceremony of Nigeria Reference Hospital Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
Governor Umahi noted that for the Service Chiefs to effectively contain the security challenges in the country, there is the need for adequate funding, provision of logistics, regular meetings with the Commander in Chief and reliable information from the citizens.
Chief Umahi hinted that the removal of the service chiefs would not bring solution to the insecurity in the country adding that rather than always calling for a change of leadership, heads of security agencies in the country should be encouraged.

He pointed out that when new Service Chiefs are appointed by the President, “they will start learning the ropes, so rather than sacking them, they should be encouraged”.
Apart from the encouragement, there is the need for more funding. Logistics should also be made available and citizens should also avail them with information because you cannot tackle insecurity without adequate information”.
Governor Umahi commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the Chief of Army staff for choosing Ebonyi state to house the reference hospital adding that when completed, it would also render health care services to the citizens of the state.

The Ebonyi State Governor said that in his determination to ensure effectively healthcare delivery to the people of the State embarked on the construction of a new State Teaching hospital in the state with a state of the arts facilities.
He pointed out that, the teaching hospital when completed would have, a dialysis center, cancer screening center, among others.

Sometimes I feel someone is blackmailing the President, hence he's not been able to replace these service chiefs.

When a leader lacks more ideas and also put people that have ran out of ideas in positions, what we are left with is ineffectiveness.

Does Governor Dave Umahi tolerates incompetency in his government? Why do you fire under performing employees especially in case of fulfilling constitutional responsibilities wherein lives are involved? Simply because no room for failure.

We disagree with this Mr Governor.....
Below is what we told our darling daddy just some hours ago we spoke.
We told daddy how much he is trying to right the wrong that the devilish, evil and looting party left our country in ruin and specially about this insurgency but more need to be done.
The evil criminals sponsoring this evil Boko Haram and part of the evil Fulani herdsmen must be brought to book or killed outrightly for our country to move forward.
We reminded daddy about Jerry Rawlings of Ghana and the great thing he did to all their bad past leaders.... BUT, this is one of the disadvantages of Democracy.

It is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt of it.

I think this guy is in his second tenure right?
That's when they always feel they figured it out.
How can any sane person who has led state security council believe a new Major General or equivalent learns the rope if appointed?
Maybe he doesn't even know what the rank entails. Does he know these are security professionals who have committed years in service and trained to attain those ranks and their mates around the world man better positions even in industries.
maybe he views the rank as normal party faithful who get to learn a position after he is appointed. He should focus on development which he is doing ok and leave matters he has no idea

It is because of people like Umahi that Igboland couldn't get a regional security outfit to tackle fulani criminals. I can never forget when Umahi said herdsmen have a right to move freely all around Igboland.
