Dangote Refinery, Lagos The refinery is situated on a 6,180 acres (2,500 hectares) site at the Lekki Free Zone, Lekki, Lagos State. With a single crude oil distillation unit, the refinery will be the largest single-train refinery in the world on completion. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() . . . This is one of the reasons the TAM for the 4 refineries will never work regardless of how much money will be pumped into it between now and 2023. This refinery will have monopoly to refine all the crude oil for domestic consumption 4 Likes |

MelesZenawi: Sour attitude. Look at the picture, it is massive. It is impressive. It will end importation of refined petroleum products in Nigeria. That is not something to sneer about unless you are bitter. 15 Likes 3 Shares |

UdechiHD: Dangote refinery may be the largest single-train refinery in the world. But not the largest refinery in the world. Dangote refinery expected capacity is 650000 barrels per day. But the Jamnagar refinery in India produce 1.2 million barrels per day. It is the largest oil refinery in the world till date. Dangote refinery is among the top 10. Probably occupying the 7th position after Onsan Refinery in Ulsan South Korea with the capacity of producing 669,000 barrels per day. Dangote was interviewed on Aljazeera News and he said that they are putting structure in place to double the capacity in future. 3 Likes |

In as much as this seems to be a good news, I think it is bad timing.. in a period when the value of oil is plummeting as countries are looking for new ways to get energy, he should have invested elsewhere, where there seems to be future. Well all the best to him tho

Oil is going nowhere in the next few years, not even in hundred years so I don't see why he should worry about temporary problem that comes because of temporary closure of world economy as a result of a pandemic. The trial shall and the world would return back to normal. The price of oil will rise again as it has been risen for some weeks back now. Besides, the cost of crude products he buys will determine the selling price; so, he isn't losing no dime. It's a very good investment considering many of African oil producing countries still export crude products to refine outside their dormain because of no or low-capacity refinery(s) in many of them. 1 Like |
