Good morning good people of Nairaland. I hope you all are doing great and keeping safe during this period of corona virus endemic..

Pls I need help!! My younger brother has been battling with a certain rash on his head since 2013. We keep on treating and after sometimes the rashes disappear and appear later.

He has used all kinds of creams and was even on pills to treat the rashes yet the rashes refuse to go. Pls is there anybody that knows the name of the rashes and how it can be treated because my younger brother is gradually losing his self-esteem because he can hardly go out without putting on cap to cover the area that is affected by the rashes.

Suggestions, criticism and possible solutions to the problem are welcomed. Doctors in the house your input will be highly appreciated. Attached below is a picture showing the true state of the affected areas

Pls mods move this to FP for wider coverage

shocked Rash name: Nuchal acne

Source of infection: Usually at the barber's shop (via contaminated clippers)

When will it completely disappear?: Probably never (whether you treat it or not, it will likely go and come back!)

Treatment:
1. Good, balanced diet always (Normal, isn't it?).
2. Henceforth settle for skin haircut style (complete shave) - Why? That part of the head breaks when hairs want to grow through the follicles.
3. The big one... Regularly apply a mixture of PYTHON FAT and ALOE VERA JUICE directly to the affected part (usually the back of the head... like yours).
4. Meanwhile, learn to live with it, after all you're just one of thousands with the condition.

That's what I am currently treating.. I initially visited a dermatologist and I was injected on different spots of the stubborn pimples.. Guess what? They resurfaced even bigger after 3 months or so.. I have been nursing mine for over 10 years now. They are called Razor bumps (Pseudofolliculitis Barbae)...

Very itchy, painfully stubborn and annoying..

Solution?

I currently apply Anacin (Aspirin)-- grind 2 or 4 tablets and mix it with water. Ensure its thick (like toothpaste).. Apply on it in the morning and apply original honey at night before going to bed... If you have lime, you can also apply it once in a while. You should see a significant difference after a week. That should motivate you to keep applying it till it's gone. Goodluck man. Mine isn't totally gone but I have been applying all I mentioned above. Again, they are very stubborn.

First quarantine the head.

Make sure you don't share clippers at the salon.

Now, pray that since you are preventing the spread, God should have mercy on you.

EndixG.

Thank me later.

It's only N500 or so. Recommended by a plastic surgeon. It's a tube. You can buy it at any reputable pharmacy or chemist.

@Ozid heard of Acne Keloidalis Nuchae?

https://www.skinsight.com/skin-conditions/adult/acne-keloidalis-nuchae

Your brother may need to see a dermatologist.

In the meantime or in the absence of that, maintain a good personal hygiene, then try apply some of the following frequently on the affected area:

1. Hand Sanitizer (containing at least 60 - 70% alcohol) with aloe
2. Spirit (isopropyl alcohol or ethyl alcohol) containing up to 90% alcohol if possible.

Why do I recommend these? Because they do help to fight the spread of infection and kill up to 99% of germs and disease causing agents
