So I was planning to relocate to Lagos. I got a job late last month and the pay is 65k. There is a free staff bus to and fro.

My question is it advisable to take this job after staying at home for almost 2 years?

Factor is cost of living in a city like Lagos..

Note: I have my side hustle giving me at least 35k monthly

Any advice?

Even aeroplane dey trek first before it flies. It is not bad for a start. It is better than sitting at home getting depressed and earning nothing. A new vista of opportunities will open to you once you start stepping out. Anyways, for CAC Company or Business Name registration, Foundation, Schools, Church, NGO, Trademark, TIN, SCUML, NAFDAC number etc, talk to us at www. Lawlab. Com. ng. it all depends on:
- the type of jobs and working hours
- the type of qualifications you have etc
- the type of life you live
- the type of wife/gf you have

but lets us all that many survive quite well on minimum salary (let alone double that amount)

I want to believe this is a kind of joke, right? I don't even need to ask if you are a graduate or not but the point is you can still manage the pay. The fact that there's a staff bus will cut-out your transportation expenses. I want to believe that you are currently living with your parents or guardian and enjoying freebies cos the real hustling guy will not even ask if the job offer worths it after staying at home for 2years. With your side hustle, you na chairman na grin grin grin grin grin.
My opinion- grab the offer if you know you don't like to stay at home again and be on the look out for Greener pasture. In fact you are prayer point for those earning 20-30k/month..seriously.
Stay blessed! Cheers!!

Please make sure it’s a legitimate business you’re g up for. Kidnapper lure vitamins with job opportunity too good to be true...

My point is use your head think outside the box

In Lagos the one thing you wanna have in mind is safety first then money... be safe

You had a reason for choosing to apply and go though the whole recruitment process. Stay with the same reason to take the job.
It will boost your experience level.
You can’t gain professional experience with side hustles.

Take the job

Dear Op

I was on this table in 2018.
I needed to relocate to Lagos too because there are a number of opportunities in my field in Lagos....so once that door opened, I immediately grabbed it.

My take home was around 61k. I also had to figure a place to stay. Although I had some savings, after squatting with someone, I rented an apartment in 3wks and I was able to manage myself until I could save more on the new job.... Even with 61k

The most important thing for me was that it was adding to my experience and I was also projecting myself for better offers. After 7 months my services were needed by another better company and we bargained a really better pay.

So sometimes it's not about now, take the job if it is relevant to your field and build enough experience from it that would earn you that another better job.

You will definitely share your story soon to encourage someone.

Do not despice the days of little beginnings... accept the little and grow from there... take it for the experience... the economy is in shambles and people are surviving on less.... all these suffices as good advice on one part given a common circumstance that we're all familiar with.

On the other part, 65k is very small for a graduate with responsibilities already living in a state like Lagos talk more of someone relocating! No offence intended, it is people who earn meagre wages that are more susceptibility to corrupt practices because they need extra income. You won't be able to survive 3 months outside that job if you lose it.

You will incur expenses, things are not cheap and your job should give you a means of living not just an avenue to slave for another!

For the staff bus, you'd spend long hours in traffic except the company is located close to where you live (which most likely isn't so). There'll be days the bus wont come or you'll miss the bus... calculate the cost of transportation to and fro.

What's tha business?
