The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) came under criticism following an outburst against the commission by the Senate and Minister of Works for openly protecting telecoms companies over increasing cases of dropped calls. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/drop-calls-senate-fashola-berate-ncc-for-defending-telecom-companies.html

NCC defended Telecom companies just the same way will defend DISCOs or a Contractor in the his Ministry who plays his balls very nice. As for the Senators, it's matter of time, they their own defence after one or two over sight visits to the Telecom companies.

![]() The Nigerian government is corrupt. No doubt about it. But the speed at which data gets exhausted when using the 4G network is a cause for concern.. On the other hand, according to the 10th paragraph, Fashola said that the Telecom companies had been asked to purchase power directly from the generating companies and by the distribution companies. I don't understand actually. Is it that the generating companies generate stable energy but the transmission companies fail to distribute? Is Fashola saying that the distribution companies are the cause of unstable electricity? Is he saying that buying from generating companies will ensure stable supply to the masts? Someone should enlighten me. ![]() 14 Likes 1 Share |

Fashola that couldn't put electricity on for just 4 hours straight is criticizing those that put their networks on despite the lack of stable electricity for 365 day a year , he is criticizing them for dropped calls ...wonders shall never end

NCC rep that has been financially induced we just have saboteurs in every sector in this country was it not some unpatriotic fools who helped Mtn in getting their hefty fine reduced after collecting bribes from them even though the money would be misappropriated those shitty telcos with their shitty network and customer service should have gotten their comeuppance.

hmmm is that so. Both the minister for works and NCC are MAD with capital letters. If the things r done properly we won't be having issues like this. Even the senate are also MAD with capital letters.

The public hearing was organised by the Senate Committee on Communications in Abuja on Wednesday. The NCC had accused the Federal Ministry of Works of contracting construction of projects to contractors who cut cables of telecom companies, resulting into the drop calls. So, was this what the Telcos told NNC and NCC responded by saying, "Don't worry about it then. It is not your fault. If the Senate calls us to explain, we will tell them it is the Ministry of Work's fault. So, take your customers' money and damn the consequences"? We have a very big problem in this country when it comes to consumer protection. |
